You wont regret getting the 5800 if you read the front page carefully of this thread about the known defects of the phone and test it properly at the shop before you buy.

Also, there are a few other problems:
1. lcd: you might wanna test it out for the first few days, if it fades/purple, it must be changed
2. firmware is not very stable, might crash but very rarely

All in all nothing comes close to the value and versatility of the phone. Go for it, and for the black one...man if black was available when i bought mine... only if... smile.gif

and how to change miles to kilometer settings? hmm.gif
*
To change the vehicles, first go to garmin.com and download new vehicles. Then create a folder called VEHICLE in the garmin folder and put the cars that you want there.

To change the vehicle:

click settings -> settings -> map -> vehicle -> select vehicle you want

to change to metric:

click settings -> settings -> system -> distance/speed

Added on March 23, 2009, 10:23 pmYou can also change the voices on your garmin

I have borats voice.. but for that explanation google.... cause its a bit long .. too lazy to put here smile.gif

Personally i regreted get IS.. The dust is horrible.. Even i ask for application service.. they manage apply IS for my 5800 around 20min n their service is great.. but $$ not great..  sweat.gif  When they done i was very happy.. when bring back home.. the dust start to stick at the edge cuz of the spray need 2-3 days to dry..  cry.gif  and the screen not good as normal SP! "Rubbery-feeling" not smooth..

From a clean n green XpressMusic becomes XpressDust  doh.gif

I feel your pain bro. I purchased the IS online for 80 bucks. Put it on, hated it, took it off all within 12 hours. Wasted 80 bucks.. down the drain. Get the capdase soft jacket case. Brilliant smile.gif

Hey aspire,

Have you tried the sennheiser cx300 or cx400? How does it compare to the x3i that you have? Thinking of saving money then going for an etymotic earphone. But gotta save for a while.. but heard that the sq is reallly good.

tried it at apple store before. The sound is good but for the price i dun think so. The X3i is capable to give about 50 - 70% identical
Just remember Sennheiser are using noise isolation and x3i and bijou is using noise cancelling technology but what can u ask more look at the price.
Its like 1 Iphone = 2 TUBES.

Same like the earphone 1 Sennheiser CX300 or CX400 = a few bijou.

yeah bro,

My friend just got etymotic headphones from the states.. drool.... but very $$$. Maybe later on

So i am curious what da point of your power management capabilities?
*
As far as i can recall, for online symbiansigned, there r a bunch of boxes to check when you sign an app. I remember reading somewhere that killme requires power management. If using devcert, no need to bother about rights for the app. Different process.

Btw, what app do you use to sign after you got the devcert? Cause I am getting mine tom, requested from a site, previously signing apps online.

i use the symbiansigned offline signing tool. Because the cer and key already selected. Just select file and signed. then just double click it will auto install direct to phone.

If u use the tool inside da phone u need select then select cert then select key select where to save then go there to run it dont forget u need copy the file into the phone too as well
*
where do i get the symbiansigned offline signing tool?

Bro got a lot of applications that start with the phone, killme is the best app to use to free up memory and speed up the phone.

anyone usings mfm v1.5 on their garmin.. everything running smoothly without crashes? does it lag? and how do i install it.. i have the .exe file already... i'm still using msm2.3b which i got with my phone..
*
Using mfm 1.5 here, no crashes, make sure to untick avoid u-turns for avoidances.

1. use file manager then go to your memory card and locate garmin folder
2. check for gmapsupp.img (just to double check)
3. open your exe file, next next next several times, then create a gmapsupp.img, click yes and drag straight into your garmin folder in your memory card.
4. start garmin smile.gif

yes replace it with the new gmapsupp.img that was created using the .exe file from mfm. You can update to 5.00.40 if you know ho to do so. If not just update your map. I am using 5.00.40 and 1.5 mfm working fine.

Y do we need to untick u-turn?
mfm 1.5 nicer or 1.5 lite?  hmm.gif

Need to turn off u-turn avoidance because some forumer said that for mfm 1.5 with that box ticked the map might crash.
