Axiata opens 5c down

KUALA LUMPUR: The share price of Axiata Group opened five sen lower when the new shares from the rights issue were listed on May 11, despite the firmer markets.

The new shares totaled 4.69 billion shares, arising from the conversion of the rights shares of RM1.12 on the basis of five rights shares for every four held,

At 9.01am, Axiata was down five sen to RM2.27. There were 1.1 million shares done.

However, the KLC Composite Index jumped 6.2 points to 1,032.98 at 9.01am. There were 74.66 million shares done valued at RM37.8 million.

TM places out 92.3m Axiata shares for RM468m

KUALA LUMPUR: TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD []’s unit has placed out 92.36 million Axiata Group Bhd at RM5.07 a share and raised gross proceeds of RM468.3 million.

TM said its unit TM ESOS Management Sdn Bhd had on Tuesday, July 26 completed the bookbuilding exercise of Axiata shares.

It said the shares were placed out to successful third-party foreign institutional investors. Following the placement, it only owned 807 shares.
