Axiata – XL To Bounce Back Outperform

Visit Note

- We gather from management that competition in the small screen segment has been rational in Indonesia. This should bode well for XL as it prepares itself for the fast growing data business by increasing capex this year.

- We understand from management that for the next 2-3 years there is no hurry to dispose its stakes in M1 and Idea. Ideally, management would like to have a more meaningful stake in its associates but pricing so far has been an obstacle.

- Maintain Outperform with a fair value of RM5.90/share based on target EV/EBITDA of 6.5x.

I still have faith with Jamaluddin icon_rolleyes.gif
Read his interview with The Edge on last year, was impressive with his management style notworthy.gif

Since Maybank start it's operation in Myanmar, the management should keep an eye

AGM today.

there were huge registrations,.... mostly came for food/gift.

in meeting there were only few seats filled.....typical of msian culture sad.gif

as usual Jamal (ceo) keep raising the bar, and always strive to be above the competition, as he always did years ago and has not changed.

2 colleagues has joined axiata's mgmt team (not local btw)

kudos to Axiata....the only Msian co that make it to Asia's list in terms of performance

apart from the usual stuffs.....they r emphasiszing on talent/skill too in navigating the future.

The government is over-spending obviously, paying too much of emoluments to feed 1mil+ government servant. The debt doesn't balloon in one factor, corruption, subsidies and inflation push it up.

Anyway, i saw Celcom set up a huge Blue Cube outlet at Sunway Pyramid and it is visible along NPE, a good marketing strategy and improvement thumbup.gif

i am pretty much dissapointed, as they only want to garner votes instead of building up the country/economy to be competitive compare to our Asean nieghbours, we r loosing to them.

what i envisage, the Greece issue is looming here... we shall see how to overcome that....
