if you got it with the modem, be sure to carefully unpack it, keep the box and all the item in it, bring the simcard, registration slip and the modem where you had registered

Well, yesterday i finally got myself the Celcom Broadband Prepaid.

Currently on edge unlimited (my digi postpaid line and often on Celcom PowerTools Broadband - Corporate User)

Bought em at Sg.Wang Celcom Blue Cube Counter on Ground Floor, since most hp shops nearby my place didnt have on.

I should have got the Xpac, at least i could send sms. lol.

Anyway,

at Taman Maluri

speed around 350-390kbps
(using speednet test : it seems that as if the speed can go higher, actually, the meter trying to go above 384kbps but cant..lol , Celcom throttle it to 3G speed)

Latency - 137ms (penang server) 250ms (Kl Server) 500-600+ (Singopore Server)

All this was done yesterday around 8.00pm and 9,00pm+

Online game? I played my l4d online (FPS with 8 other persons).. i ve got 130-250ms. (which is typical for P1, Celcom Broadband and Maxis :wireless - using edge i would have 1200-1500+ which is not playable) Now mind you, to those who havent used to using wireless, this is normal characteristics ping. Those gained around below 100, are normally using wired broadband.
No lagging, and most important is, no interrupted connection.

There was once, when i joined, i got a lag spike of 1400+, but then again in few seconds, it slowly went down back to 1000, 700, 500, 300 and finally 200+.

Well for 200+ is okay since i am on 3g speed. 100+ maybe for 3.5g. As long i am not lagging.

You tube - one youtube was quite fast. Try using with my steam account watching game trailer. Good too.

Well. Overall. 1.2 hours of gaming Left4Dead and later download 6 youtubes Kamen Rider Kabuto simultaneously (err mybrother watching this.. each youtube around 8minutes, but wasnt sure how long did it take since i was already tidurr..zzz)
The whole processes consume 64mb.

Since, i am not into heavy torrenting, i dont mind all these facts. Well, for those heavy on torrenting, so far, the only option is streamyx or Amax wifi which has no FUP and allocated data amount. Not sure about the speed though. Will surely see how things are going in few days more.

I just bought this celcom prepaid broadband last Tuesday. Last time i was digi edge daily rm6 user. I subscribe the rm20 weekly. So far my speed is up to 384kbps, sometimes can reach 390kbps. Downld speed average 46kb/s. Highest can get 50kb/s. At the moment Ive downlded about 2gb. My area is at Jalan Santubong outskirt Kuching town. My house is just 500m from the network transmission pole. So far so good. biggrin.gif

need 3g sim 128k like rm10 to change the simcard, you have to wait untill your weekly expired then aplly new, cant pay lamsum like that... if want to use for 2 weeks

usually in 24 your weekly bb expired celcom will sms, whether you want to continue or not, if want just reply yes, else just leave it untill its expires.

walaueh! sure you sanggup spend almost rm300 per month for that downloading purposes tongue.gif

although my estimated daily GB of bandwidth (if not being capped at all) is about 5-8GB.
that's only involving direct downloads of scene releases
