I don't know if this has been discussed before
But what's the best acoustic guitar strings you've used?
I just got bored of D'Addario, very standard.

In terms of string life, and tone/sound, and everything else, what do you guys reckon

Please state rough pricing as well

I recently switched to Dunlop, the Zakk Wylde strings in particular. Produces a warmer tone, but it's quite thick, so you really need alot of stamina.
Was previously using Elixirs anti-rust, but they are just too bloddy expensive and the tone to my taste, wasn't that fantastic.

I tried many brands, Ernie ball, D'addario, cleartone, martin&co. but my favourite is undoubtedly Dr.Ducks' acoustic.

For me, its definitely the best buy ever, cheapest among all strings and the tone is just... awesome. Even my cheap ibanez v series sounded quite good and there's this dr.ducks axwax lube that's just godsent I tell ya.

Please stop giving one line brand names. Explain WHY they are good for you. If everybody keeps doing one-liners, I'll start deleting them.

I use Elixirs because I don't want to restring so often tongue.gif

Ernie Balls snap waaay too easily. D'Addarios don't last very long, which is a pain on floating bridges sad.gif

i used ernie ball's for my bass and they sound good at the beginning but then after that they rust very fast cry.gif
so far for bass the fenders lasted the longest without rusting.
