Hello Peeps,
Sorry for the intrusion. Needed some professional advise from the pros here. Planning to re-bore my engine block(L2 Stock 68mm) , Should i get L2 oversized piston 70mm, Kelisa piston 72mm or 2e - 73mm piston? Not aiming for huge bhp increase, but rather a safer and low maintenance engine. Able to sustain high boost aswell. Huge Thank You in advance! As promised, the process of building a 1000T Kancil (:
In general, what you need for a 1000T? 1.Block EJ with its internals 2.L2/L2S Head 3.What ever pistons of your choices, the larger your balls is the larger mm you'll get 4.The best tuner you can get Complexity made Simple: Modify your EJ block to look exactly like your EF block, Use EJ internals (EJ internals are same as 850cc internals) Correct me if i'm wrong. Marry your L2 head and the block, every other thing use back EJ's. Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! My 1000T Progress Report: Block EJ/Block Kelisa 1.0 ![]() Below are the Modification to the EJ block in order to fit the L2 Head; Holes to modify! 3 Oil Jet holes (turbo block has em) ![]() Old EJ water line ![]() New EJ water line ![]() New EJ Water line side view ![]() Unknown Holes but close em! ![]() Oil return line from Turbo ![]() This post has been edited by killerkate: Nov 15 2009, 06:12 PM |

Hrmm, what deto say makes sense. Why i chose 660 over 1000 gearbox its because of its short ratios. Although 0-100 i would favor 1000gearbox because you can reach 100 on gear two, meanwhile on 660 you definitely need to shift to 3rd. Mili sec lost.
A question: If i lighten the flywheel, the changes would be: B4 Lightening> It takes 3 seconds to reach 8k RPM After Lightening> It takes 3 seconds to reach 10k RPM Is my illustration correct? I don't quite understand on the redline thing you mentioned. Isn't red line a safety precaution to prevent any dmg to the engine? Spank me with more advice deto! haha. Besides the flywheel thingy, what else do you find ridiculous? (: Thanks in advance for the feed backs! Regards KK |

(: impressive. Have to reconsider & plan all over again ahah. No one wants to blow up their engine. Fun is one thing, the cost that you're gonna bear is another.
I would have gotten a 1.0 gearbox if it wasn't so hard to find or rather the price wasn't right for my lil budget project. Now that i've invested in a 660gearbox and a custom clutch + clutch plate, i doubt i have much choices atm =\ Will keep u guys posted. Now waiting for pistons to be skimmed and i should be ready to assemble. Thanks a million deto! Regards KK |

Been missing for a bit, here's the update. Instead of using EJ internals, am using 850cc internals. Won't update much on performance due to "running in" period.

RM2500 - L2S Engine w/o Bodypart (Can't give you exact figures)
RM700-800 - Workmanship for just transplant RM600 - Required oils, Required beltings and additional replacement parts. Quoted price are rough figures, the actual figure may differ from the quotation above. I have a reliable mechanic from Damansara Damai - near kepong/LDP/Sungai buloh. Less than ten minutes drive from KotaD. EXCELLENT workmanship! But fyking slow. If you have like a month or two, I would really recommend you to him. Else if you're rushing for time, seek for other workshops. They should cost roughly the same. Regards KK |
