QUOTE(Phyurix @ Apr 26 2009, 08:33 PM) lolI've won the championship twice and the first one didnt concluded properly. I still don't like spending 10 mins or more searching for a game though. At least when someone disconnects, it doesn't add up to my disconnect % or else I'll be pissed. |

I lost a championship to someone(3 bars) who spams shoryuken while blocking and that game has 1/2 second delay. He takes advantage of the slight delay by jumping over and pray that I miss shoryken too. How about that?
I'm not experienced enough to play on laggy conditions. Especially when my temper starts taking over me when I can't block and miss shoryukens due to lag. You know how accurate my shoryuken is. I've tried 30 mins before I could get a game going before. You are not alone. I'll give up searching when it is 20 tries now. This post has been edited by TristanX: Apr 27 2009, 04:37 AM |

I dropped to 3073 from 3202 without a loss or disconnect today. This post has been edited by TristanX: Apr 27 2009, 07:43 PM |

It's easier to get 5 bars for local players. Looks like they optimized the connection speed but not the connectivity. Still getting unable to crap quite often.

Problem is our internet. We don't have a good ISP that cares about service. No matter what you do, it will be limited by our internet.

I missed the old days where I can train with friends in the arcades and other people watching. Winner stays and we take turns feeding the machine. It's expensive to play cause it's RM1/game but It's fun.

Yeah, a place where everyone have same distance to gather, then go to someone's house. Just bring joysticks. I let people into my house but I'm afraid that it will be too far for some people.
I can provide another LCD (DVI but supports direct HDMI to DVI cable) for another PS3 if someone is willing to bring it. This post has been edited by TristanX: Apr 29 2009, 11:10 PM |

QUOTE(leongteng5 @ Apr 30 2009, 04:00 PM) I agree to the segregation. But don't use it to avoid the pros completely; make sure you play them once in a while. I think playing them will help you in your game very much and there's no sense in dumbing down the SF4 scene in Malaysia. So what if we get beat 0-20, 0-50, 0-100 as long as we learn from it and improve your game. If anything you can impress other casual players and motivate them to play better. I'm not unbeatable. Some real life friends are on par or better than me. There are also a few in the net that is on par on better too. The wall I'm having now is my age. My reflexes are slower and sometimes I got myself stuck while thinking. I usually beat you guys with experience. A few of you guys have almost everything but the experience.Guys like Tristan may be virtually unbeatable now, but someone would come around and beat them eventually, and I think secretly they want to meet someone that can. Could be you, could be me. But I agree, some of us want to fight just for the sake of having fun. I like fooling around with Fei Long or Dan myself. And some don't appreciate you fooling around, which is why I think this list is a good idea. But the potential problem is most pros I met are actually quite humble. So I dunno if they can accept their name being put in the "pro's list" all of a sudden QUOTE(brastel @ Apr 30 2009, 04:16 PM) Ive a few friends on psn in Japan, and one of them has a really good boxer. I usually win against his boxer like 4-5 times before he got me figured out (or maybe he's warmed up) and beat me 9 out of 10 times. I agree it can get frustrating to have a crazy losing streak but thats why lets say after 4-8 fights, he'll change characters to those he's not THAT good at. I, too change my characters every once in awhile. Actually, I pick other characters just to learn and have more fun. Besides, playing the same thing over and over again will get boring. So maybe, just for example, Tristan kicks ass with Ken but when he's at 6~10-0, he changes his character to characters he's not that kickass at , im not saying pick a character you know nothing about, maybe pick a character that you know his moves/combos but your execution isnt as flawless. That'll ease your opponent a bit, making it somehow fun. Just my 2 cents though. edit: and to add, i totally agree with fighting against better opponents to get better yourself. What i said above is merely one of the many ways to enjoy playing casuals because sometimes you had a bad day and you just need a good fight, not a massive beating LOL. QUOTE(tony @ Apr 30 2009, 04:19 PM) i seconded that, imagined that our every moves were so predictable to them, what's the fun of playing with us ? I've been in situations that I can't beat certain characters at all so I know how you are feel. I have to rely by myself to get strats and new links on how to beat them back in the old days.Just like watching a movie that u already knew every details + the ending. Watch 1 time already sian, and now u were forced to watch 30 times continously...wtf But 1 thing i have to admit though, Tristanx is a very patient fellow Never failed to answer all the questions i asked... QUOTE(sonx2003 @ Apr 30 2009, 10:00 PM) yeah...u right tristanx...i don't mind being beaten by experienced player. That's how I will gain my own experience.. It's up to you. I don't decline when someone wants to play with me except when I'm busy with someone or a friend is using my PS3. I don't think even 30-0 will happen cause either I'll start losing with other characters or I'm tired. I feel bad when I max out on people who are still learning so I'll start changing characters.. anyway can i fight u again?don't mind even if u beat me 200-0..i just want to learn.. Just take note on the same character I use and give me back the same thing. |

QUOTE(sonx2003 @ May 1 2009, 12:09 AM) hehe..I just like the way when u beat, beat and beat me up & then at the end u point up my weakness..u're really are a sifu to me.. Depends, people can improve.but i don't think u'll lose to me even if u're tired or using other character bro.. Well, I'm done with Ranked Match because of our shiternet and insane amount of "Unable To..." crap. I just got another BP deduction after winning another Ranked Match and I think it's because I lost connection to PSN on BP +/- screen. I also got 1% disconnect now. sigh This post has been edited by TristanX: May 1 2009, 01:06 AM |

Cool. Gonna see the full potential of your Abel soon. lol
Earning BP is already hard with tons of "Unable to play" and playing low BP players at 3000+ BP and getting deductions with no reason makes it worse. |

You just need to get used to the joystick and more practice will help. You can't do much about our shiternet until TM has a competitor.

QUOTE(boogalogist @ May 3 2009, 03:33 AM) Damn good games there with Tristan! Minimal lag as well!! Well, I can't really go all out offense against Bison as his attacks are better. I'm an offensive player but not against certain characters.I have a hard time breaking through your defense. You're a very defensive player. You never miss srk. Your strings all link. Are you some tourney champion? The only thing I see you miss is srk FADC into ultra. Btw, Ken's EX tatsu can link into his Ultra....but the EX tatsu must only hit once. If hit more than once, the Ultra will be too far away to connect. Questions:- How do I handle those jump back kicks with Bison? What do I do after Ken's EX tatsu hits? Is there anything I can do while blocking your strings? (i don't have srk) Please give some comments on my Bison. I'd love some comments! p/s i find your Ryu harder to fight than your Ken. I got 2nd for SF4 Tournament on 28th February. Jump back kicks are hard to counter unless you guessed it. As for Ken's EX tatsu, you gotta guess what I do cause it has very little recovery time. I don't play Bison so I don't know much. I only know his stand HK is anti-air but not against crossover kicks. Ryu's moves are more "threatening" cause they do more damage. That's why you feel Ken is easier. Ken needs more offense and some of them are risky. This post has been edited by TristanX: May 3 2009, 03:49 AM |
