I just got a jasper set about 2 months ago and its working fantastic. I'm thoroughly satisfied with it. No signs of any problems just yet. Nothing doing with any of the problems you listed out.
I cross my fingers for that. : )

how abt playing hours?? can play non stop for 10 hours?? haha

Just got a jasper a few weeks back, no probs so far, Gaming without probs so far. I did 6 hours without air conditioning the other night. Don't see the difference between 6 hours and 10 hours tbh.

I've got my jasper for 3 months. Being playing roughly around 6 hours. Everything runs smoothly. No complaints here.

haha. yeah, everything works great. You can install games to play with the console keeping quiet and to reduce strain on the console. a 60gb hdd would do. 10hours shouldnt be a problem. : )

To me i got the jasper 2 weeks ago but i have no clue why the game FAR CRY 2 frozes on me for the first time although I installed it on HDD to me...

just update the NXE to lastest and u can install game

hey guys, can i play all Xbox 360 games without having a HDD.. i am planning to buy a Xbox 360, don know whether to buy the arcade version or the 60 gb pro version? any idea? any advantage for having HDD?.. Thanks

My console freeze on Fallout 3 and the problem is not recurring after I've performed the cache clearing trick.

Try those trick in the link given, see if it solved your problem?

i remember they come out for patch the random freeze issue for fallout 3.
but i did c some forumer finish fallout 3 with no problem.

Those released patch did not help prevent freeze.

Bethesda support convinced me clearing HDD cache will solve the problem and it worked so far.

Well, I guess the arguments with your parents ends up pointless.
Correct me if im wrong, but I did spot some sort of cable that enable you to transfer all files from one HDD to another.

Really? I really need THIS because i'm really desperate about this bcoz i've checked on every game stores, nothing there!

Thanks a lot. Anyway It doesn't matter bcoz My parents always like THAT till it end up an Argument to me when my Old (manufactured september 5th 2006!?) PRO got a RROD 6 times so They bought me a New Jasper One instead. BTW i'm also a have a trouble to assemble my old 20GB hdd into my new JASPER arcade till 25 minutes later, i can't..... get..... THROUGH!!!!

To answer all of your question :-

YES~! some atch of old 20GB HDD will cause 3RRoD but 3RRoD occured due to HDD is NOT LIKE WHAT YOU THINK OF

When a faulty HDD is installed to the machine, the system will somehow trigger the 3RRoD as secondary code for 3RRoD do include HDD failure.

The remedy while painful, is not fatal to the console :-

The 3RRoD will gone once you removed the HDD but at the sametime, most of your data/gamesave/whatsoever in the affected HDD is most likely gone for good.

For me, HDD failure is even more disasterous than 3RRoD due to console hardware failure.

Damn it! Somebody need the Transfer Cable desperately!!

You may use Xplorer360 on your console.

At the same time it's aout time for you to DIY a 120GB HDD

f*** this! Whatever. I mean I'm not really good to DIY stuff with my 20GB hdd.

dude.. it's rrod because of hdd failure.. it's not ur console failure.. do read and understand clearly.
if ur hdd have no problem.. then no rrod.

u need to understand that RROD is a failure ! everything about failure ! not because of overheat only !
my dvd-rom power cable got problem also RROD.

advantages?

less load time
wont fail u in the middle of a game saying "Disc is unreadable" causing u to quit and lose precious data
less dvd spin hence less failure rate
less heat , technically since processing is at hard disk and not dvd
longer lifespan for dvd's
no noise at all

everything about it is a PLUS

seriously, i wouldnt suggest non hdd xbox

2 minus point:

1) You're adding chance of 3RRoD by 1% by adding HDD
2) HDD is expensive, if you choose to mod, it's messy.

The box turn up to 3rod so fast. What is the error code? I didnt see him reply with the error code. So many people ask him the code there.

Thats not rrod, because the red lights shows up in the first second when u turn on the console...The real rrod shows up in about 4 or 5 seconds

the situation is like my jasper set kena b4...I've plug in various of plug including my lcd tv, speaker, 360, and my pc simultaneously then boom 3rod come out...after learn my lesson, I've only use 3 plug simultaneously to prevent this to happening again...

1 question has anyone disect the console yet?? what improvement made compared to the other version.. i dont think upgrading the gpu and heat reduction will save it from rod.

there are alot of rrod types

main 1 of course is the heat and reduction

so this is MS's first step 2 reduciton

other cases can generally be fixed, such as loose cable, messed up pwoer , failed hard disk, shitty dvd rom

but mainly , heat & gpu hence jasper

In detail, the new GPU is supposed to add a layer of "suspension" to allow the soldering to expend when heated which the pre-falcon era did not have this mechanism, i mean supposed as it is actually implemented in Falcon but somehow not working properly.

the GPU broken soldering problem is not due to heat itself but rather because of the chip packaging do not tolerate thermal stress. That's the root cause of the broken soldering.

In order to solve that, the manufacturer supposed to rework the soldering suspension layer and not the heatsink system as the system is stable until the soldering break.

Even watercooler did not guarantee that the heat will not causing thermal stress on the soldering....so no point for them to revise cooling.

Thanks to M$ "experienced" team...the problem can only solved after 3 f**king years of the initial launch.

which anyways, i am 100% sure if i open my FALCON 6 months ago, my thermal paste would be about 50% messed up

- Playing hours - Have played the console for 9 hours straight but night time till morning
- HDD problem - None so far
- DVD rom problem - None so far
- In game problem (freezing/lagging etc..) - Only with Toger Woods 09 but found a way out/resolve it
- or anything else that makes u love or hate it.. - Prefer it over my PS2

The effect of 3 ROD is very beneficial, one of them is that you never have to buy a frying pan again because it allows you to cook scramble egg for breakfast on top of the GPU's heat sink.

it's a common n most feared problem for Xbox360 for previous version since year 2005. if u simply google it .. u will get ur answer. Basically, it's general hardware failure ... means it can be small problem or the console totally dead.

From Xenon timethey already using the same soldering method. It's the construction & construction material of the soldering & chip packaging went wrong and not the method.

Don't get it wrong.

Jasper is fully tested before it's delayed rollout so it solved the problem.

But for the longevity...we shall see....

my friends room is very hot.. (u'll sweat even the fan is on). only use wall mounted fall (not ceiling). and his jasper still perform without any problem.. and even when turn off, the fan just stop... not like mine, when we turn off..the fan will still blow for few seconds then stop (u can check ur power brick..when u turn off..the power brick still yellow.. after a while it turns orange..but my friends straight away change to orange)

My room also warm and will sweat @ noon.

My 2nd falcon works perfectly under such condition even for 3 days non stop running for downloading. hahahaha.

My jasper set is running a bit hot when playing fable 2. I played it for only an hour and it started to get too hot to touch (especially the back). Also, I noticed that the fan speed is much slower than my previous RRoD Xenon Xbox.

So, by reducing the GPU to 65nm, microsoft also reduce the fan speed. Which is a pretty dumb move if you ask me.

And yes, the Jasper is still hot to touch when playing graphic intensive games.

Only time will tell if whether it is RROD free or not.

You know my answer on another topic....I will not elaborate here but I can tell you M$ did nothing wrong about the fan speed. The system will crash frequently if the fan speed is not correct.

wow ... "too hot to touch" is a big statement for jasper set. I played all my games on 1080p resolution, but it's no way near hot, the most I can say is warm at the back after 2-3 hrs of gaming, but feel almost nothing on the top, bottom n side...

I played my jasper xbox continually for more than 12 hours and it is still working fine now...really a stress test on it...

got japer,hook it up with a cooling n standing 360 and nyko intercooler ts,the upper 360 doesnt feel hot,its like room temp,only the base feel a bit warm.the disc is also warm,but doesnt make a problem if u install the game to HD,i planning to buy a table fan and blow directly to 360 because afraid my 360 might got a new disease,the E74.for 3rod,i think jasper should be ok.

u're using a jasper... no worries about it. no need to buy another table fan..ur's is ok already..hahahaha...
