This is an email i got from the organizers.

Hi there. Ive got a group of 8-10 friends who are interested and we wanna join the GameFest 09. But the only thing unclear to me is whether can we use laptop for gaming? Your rules and regulations posted at LYN forum stated that CPU only. Please clarify this asap. Thx

Reply: Hi, for your info, it's true that only CPU. This is because AMD want every participant to use their processor and even their graphic cards. They will upgrade your CPU for the event.

What is this bullcrap? manipulated here and there. go there later in the end say must use CPU. Waste time and money. Stupid organizers cant even clearly state rules and regulations.

What kinda lan party doesnt allow laptops? Sigh. Really dissapointed with MMU GDC.
*
lol i jst replied your question at spotgamers.

I think they got it mistaken. For the LAN party yes you have to bring your own CPU and Laptop. And yes again you can bring your laptop for the LAN party.

But for the tourney, you dont have to bring your laptop since the pcs is provided.

CONFIRM!! YOU CAN BRING YOUR LAPTOP!! YOU CAN USE ANY CPU PROVIDER, BE IT INTEL OR AMD AND THEY WONT THROW YOU OUT.

Firstly we apologize if there were any confusions as some of the questions posted are very valid and we will try and get back to you as soon as possible on this. Many of the first round questions such as if laptops are allowed ( yes ) and so forth has been handled when Jali called us about it. He posted it up somewhere in the middle of this forum group.

In the mean time there are more questions to be answered and we would like to get back to the community as quickly as possible so this is what i have done so far, I have called Jali and later i call Chapree also to ask them to help us out to answer questions posted here as soon as we can. They will be the spokes persons on our behalf.

We are now running around trying to rope in as many sponsors as possible to create as more activities for the participants. We know we can never satisfy everyone's needs and wishes however we will continue to aim to create an event that will be as enjoyable as possible while at the same time create an opportunity for gamer's residing in Malaysia to make their mark.

The main organizers and game sponsors have so far been great in providing us alot of support in creating this event. More so that in any other event that i have ever taken part in organizing in the past 8 years.

In fact thanks to them a few new announcements will be made in the week ahead leading up to the event, including possibley an increase in prizes for tournaments, some additional lucky draws for the record breakers throughout the event. There is also Game publisher sponsored activities with their own prizes for the record breakers and so forth... smile.gif

For those who has PM us and called us to volunteer help, thank you !! It is much appreciated and to be honest made creating this event worth our while especially when we run up against negative stuff smile.gif Lan parties in Malaysia are rare, in fact the Lowyat groups where the originators of some the earlier gatherings and it is nice to see the show of support. If there is anything we can do such as putting everyone together as suggested by a poster earlier let us know and we will try our best to do so.

Thanks for your patience and support !!
