GUIDELINES
This record is for the longest LAN party, measured by the duration of the continuous party with the same participants.

1. Each person attending the party must bring their own home computer in order to count towards the total attendance figure.
2. At least 100 participants must remain at the party and continue to play a videogame with other participants in the LAN
3. No person under the age of 16 may compete. Persons aged between 16 and 18 must be in possession of a document signed by their parent or legal guardian, giving them permission to compete. This must be added to the log book and witnessed before the attempt has started.
4. Rest breaks – you are allowed 5 minutes rest for every continuously completed hour of activity. These can be accumulated to give, for example, 15 minutes after 3 full hours of activity. This is the only point where you may take a bathroom break. You may consume food and drink while the record is in progress, but this should not disrupt the flow of the attempt.

For example:
If participants play from 12:00 – 16:30, this is four complete hours and therefore allows up to 20 minutes rest. The team rests from 16:31 to 16:41, 10 minutes, and they can then carry the other 10 minutes they are entitled to forward for use in the future. The team then play from 16:42 to 18:32, which is one complete hour and accrues 5 minutes, at this time they would be able to take up to 15 minutes of rest (5 accrued from recent activity plus 10 carried over). Note the team have accrued 25 minutes of rest, although they have actually been playing for 6 hours 20 minutes in total.

Added on March 17, 2009, 11:35 amUpdates and some answers :

Laptops confirmed ALLOWED.

In response to some of the posts here, server pcs will be setup for participants to run some of the games that require the use of these servers.

Games will not be provided by the organizers however some of the game sponsors will be sponsoring activities surrounding their titles.

We are still working with as many companies as possible to generate activities for the LAN party.

Internet connection will be available but torrents will not be allowed as it will interrupt many online games such as World of Warcraft.

im so interested to join....but this point worries me... the ONLY point u can take a bathroom break?? are u kiding me?? i understand why...so that u dont get peple hanging in the toilet for 4 hours...but seriously... when you gotta go... YOU GOTTA GO!!! u dont expect people to piss or shit in the game area itself do u??
worse for me coz i have a small bladder and bowel problems... (yes im old) so i kinda need unrestricted toilet access (although i can still try to control....but im rarely ever able to)...

n those of u who are laughing...dont...this problem aint fun...its caused me nuttin but discomfort and has limited my travelling as well as costed me time and money.

i do hope u can address this problem...
another question....and this is VERY important as well....

is smoking allowed in the game hall...especially at the station itself?? coz smoking+gaming=awake for 38 hours

Hi, thanks for your question

We understand your needs, but please bear in mind the 5min break per hour is a Guinness guideline.

The organizer will block off a private area + washroom exclusively for all record breaker participants.

This area will be allocated so that participants can save time going to the toilet and will serve as a place for participants to get some rest during and after the event.

Thanks

Firstly we apologize if there were any confusions as some of the questions posted are very valid and we will try and get back to you as soon as possible on this. Many of the first round questions such as if laptops are allowed ( yes ) and so forth has been handled when Jali called us about it. He posted it up somewhere in the middle of this forum group.

In the mean time there are more questions to be answered and we would like to get back to the community as quickly as possible so this is what i have done so far, I have called Jali and later i call Chapree also to ask them to help us out to answer questions posted here as soon as we can. They will be the spokes persons on our behalf.

We are now running around trying to rope in as many sponsors as possible to create as more activities for the participants. We know we can never satisfy everyone's needs and wishes however we will continue to aim to create an event that will be as enjoyable as possible while at the same time create an opportunity for gamer's residing in Malaysia to make their mark.

The main organizers and game sponsors have so far been great in providing us alot of support in creating this event. More so that in any other event that i have ever taken part in organizing in the past 8 years.

In fact thanks to them a few new announcements will be made in the week ahead leading up to the event, including possibley an increase in prizes for tournaments, some additional lucky draws for the record breakers throughout the event. There is also Game publisher sponsored activities with their own prizes for the record breakers and so forth... smile.gif

For those who has PM us and called us to volunteer help, thank you !! It is much appreciated and to be honest made creating this event worth our while especially when we run up against negative stuff smile.gif Lan parties in Malaysia are rare, in fact the Lowyat groups where the originators of some the earlier gatherings and it is nice to see the show of support. If there is anything we can do such as putting everyone together as suggested by a poster earlier let us know and we will try our best to do so.

Thanks for your patience and support !!

*confuse*
*
Hmm... I know almost 200 calls were made that day and about 13-18 did not get through, did not pick up or could not be reached. If your name is on the list not to worry, you will not be dropped if you could not be reached. Could you email to cyberfusion2009@gmail.com and insert in the heading " Name on list but no call received" so that we can process and verify your application ?

To answer some of the questions, the soft copy of the tickets will be sent out beginning Friday and over the weekend.

Will love to get Razer and Logitech on board with giveaways but... anyone know anyone in there if they are interested ? tongue.gif I want a G13 !!

Anyway we are finalizing the giveaways and sponsors so will put more manpower into processing the event registrations. There WILL be more surprises and lucky draws and activities and giveaways so in the words of Dato' Redza Rafiq "Watch this space !!"

Again, thanks for the support, volunteers and help guys... you know who you are smile.gif

Cheers !!
Mic.
