they cannot, as many a students do NOT have the money.....

and many b students are very keen to enter, and HAVE the money......

Quite a narrow mind to juz think pharmacy is to open shop... There are so many career path other than juz business.

I can. Get a masters n later on a phd, be a lecturer. Or join one of the mnc companies like watsons, start off working as retail pharmacist then slowly work up the corporate ladder. Or u can join the production line pharmacist. Be exposed to various health regulations from diff country, learn bout export/import license, documentation, iso, gmp etc. You can also join one of the big pharmaceutical companies like pfizer and be their liaison officer.

There are juz plenty of career path for pharmacist. I highly suggest u to go to job street and have a look around. It's not all bout opening shop. Btw looking at the current trend, there ain't much room for profit.

Hi, I'm a new member here! 

Well I just received my a level result and it was average or maybe even considered bad for some (haiz).

Anyway, I'm now having a headache on choosing a course for my tertiary studies. On my list, it has been cut down to pharmacy, chemical engineering, material science... Everyone around me suggests that I go for pharmacy (they say my personality = pharmacist  ). But I'm still uncertain since I didn't take biology in a levels, will it leave me at a disadvantage spot, studying pharmacy?

Btw, is there anyone studying BPharm in IMU? The one with credit transfer to either Queensland or Otago. Is the course recognised in the respective countries? And how long was the bridging course?

i must say, there is VERY little information in the imu website about this new credit transfer arrangement with otago and uq..........i think it was announced in 2009, so i don't think any student has transferred over as yet.....best that people interested talk to imu officers directly rather than depend on hearsay here.....i would be a bit apprehensive about an arrangement like this when there is no clear guideline on how one transfers over.....

Don't these high atar achievers apply to UK for med where choices are better, costs cheaper rather than oz? PR?

csp refers to places for oz citizens and pr's, open places, the most competitive..........in addition, they have bonded places, both rural, and special needs......lower requirements for rural/special applicants....

it is relatively more difficult/troublesome to apply to uk med schools with an aussie atar....best still to do a levels if the intention is to go to uk....
