Hi there. I'm a new here and it's feeling so great to see you guys. I have quite a number of doubts towards this course and I seriously need some experts to enlighten me.  smile.gif

I'm a STPM leaver. Juz took my result this Monday.
Am    :   B+
Chem:   A-
Bio    :   B+
Maths:   B
CGPA:   3.33
Muet :   Band 4 ( It's suck, I know it)  doh.gif
GCE-O English Paper in SPM : A1

I'm very interested in doing pharmacy. I've seen all the pages (87 pages) in 2 nights for about 6 hours if I'm not mistaken.  rclxub.gif And I know I stand no chance in applying Pharmacy in IPTA. Yea, I know. Suckish result. I really hate it. So, here is the first inquiry.
Am I qualified to apply for Nottingham 2+2 Pharmacy course? I've looked into their site and I'm not really understand what they meant.

# Candidates with STPM will need minimum grades of AAB+/AB+B+ in Chemistry and two other science subjects/Mathematics. General Paper is not acceptable.

This is what I saw on their website. Although I'm still not sure whether I'll be going for this uni yet due to my financial support, but I'm very keen to study abroad. It's just like my dream since young and since most of you guys recommend this university (from the pages earlier). I'll put this university as my 1st priority. It does no harm to try, right? I'm just looking for alternatives.  smile.gif

Thanks for reading my predicament now and any kind of helps of opinions will do wonder to me. Thanks again!  biggrin.gif

Well, it's true that the university has raised their minimum entry requirement, but there's no harm giving it a try. The application is for free anyway, and u will be informed to attend an interview. Good luck =)
Feel free to ask me anything about the university, and there're a lot more students currently doing MPharm in this uni active in this thread. smile.gif

Hi wyatt615! Nice to see you here.  smile.gif

First, I gotta thank you for replying me and I'd more appreciate if you can tell me more on this thing. Am I not reaching the minimum entry requirement of the university? But even I'm not not qualified for the requirement, still I may have some chances to enter this uni? If what I said is right, then what are the chances of entering it?

Thanks for your encouragement ya!  biggrin.gif

Haha, you re welcome. Ya, well, in the past few batches, there were a minority of students entered the course without reaching the so-called "minimum requirement". My suggestion is just apply and attend one of the open days by the school of pharmacy. You still stand a pretty good chance to enter the course. =)

Open days? When are the open days by the school of pharmacy? I looked at the site and it's stated there the open day is on 15th Jan where else Faculty of Science Open Day is on 18th Feb. Both date are already passed. So, is there any open day in the future? When will it be?

Thanks! smile.gif

Ya, there'll be plenty of open days in the future, not to worry. Just visit the website regularly to get updates about the the open days. They'll ve one in march i think. And again, you're welcome ^^

Hi guys. I am working on personal statement right now. I would like ask normally what criteria or quality the universities will look for in my personal statement. A pharmacist personal statement of course. smile.gif

Yes, I tried to google it and the information I found is quite common. Eg : Great communication skill, ability to multi-task, a sincere interest empathy for health of patient, desire to improve patient's health and blah..

And normally how do we start a personal statement? Just straight to the point what motivates me to study pharmacy?

Because, right now, I do have a lot of points in my mind to write in my personal statement but the personal statement should be short and roughly about 400 words and I have no idea what are the important points that must fit in a good pharmacy personal statement.

Just wanna consult you guys whether you've came across any great ideas/tips when doing this thing and if possible, please share with me.

Thanks for enlightening me. biggrin.gif

Hi, if u re refering to writing a personal statement for application of Nottingham, u just have to write something like what makes u choose pharmacy and the university, and what makes u think that u ve good communication skill (maybe your working experience?), and maybe something about your academic performance as well. It doesn't have to be long, try to make it simple but informative. Good luck ya =)

Anyone attend the interview for MPharm University of Nottingham (Malaysia campus) before? Wondering how is it like? I tried to Google but I only found information regarding the UK campus interview, where they ask lots of scientific questions. Is the interview in Malaysia campus like that as well?

haha, don't worry, they will just ask something you've learnt before in your pre-u... you don't really have to prepare anything for the interview. Good luck =)
