Hi there,
I just saw a myvi and yesterday a vios that their car signal light blink double the speed as the normal.
Example: ( 1 second basis)
Normal : 1 blink After : 3 blink
How to they do it.As i asked acc shop near my place, they said probabaly the bulb burn. That can cost signal lamp to blink even more faster as it is.But suspisious on those vios and myvi were normal and the bulb blink faster.(just like the strobe)
Does any 1 know how they do it.Thanks...

yeah if i'm not mistaken, when it blink faster than normal, it indicated that one or more signal bulb burn or malfunction.
if it can be modified, i still think it should not be tempered. next time if the signal got problem, how to detect ?

Have been riding thru cyberjaya.I noticed many buses (RAPID KL) buses has fast blinking signal light.# Why is that so ? do they have any relay on that or modification ?
But i see, some moded cars has a faster blinking signal light...

my car previously blink fast too..my bulb never burst...my problem is coz i change my signal bulb to those LED type....FYI my signal bulb is those huge type...like those brake like bulb....the LED voltage abit higher than my stock bulb...so my signal blink really fast...after i change back to stock...it back to normal....

Why not you try a few more car accessories shop or change to a higher voltage bulb like some of them suggested?

better not try others voltage bulb cause most probably it will burn your fuse if worse it might cause others electronic stuffs malfunction.

I don't think it would burn or kill anything? If you notice, there are many bulbs sold in accessories shop which are of higher voltage. I've never tried them on my indicator lights but for headlights, they work fine. Anyway, do it at your own risk

This was a famous mod during the early 90s. If not mistaken, they change out the capacitor. Well, I'm not familiar with the whole mod, cause during that period, I was just an average kid.

The rate of the flasher (the clicking device located in the dashboard area) is determined by the amount of current drawn by the signal lights.. The lesser the current in the circuit (a burnt bulb, led lamps), the faster the flasher open and closes..faster clicking, signal blinking faster..
So to control the rate of blinking, you just need to add/reduce resistance in the signal light circuit...

Signal light double up Common problem * defective bulb * defective flasher unit Defective bulb The electrical (signal lamp) connection in our car is connected in parallel, defective a single bulb can result increase of resistance in loads. Therefore, the flasher unit (capacitor) will discharge faster than usual. Defective flasher unit / wrong flash per minutes Flasher unit itself has a spec on it. It indicates how many flash (discharge) per second on certain loads. Added on March 26, 2009, 1:55 amQUOTE(makaveli @ Mar 25 2009, 11:51 PM) so its the fuse that we have to change to a bigger capasity.Am i right No, fuse is just an protecting device in your car electrical circuit. You just simply replace the flasher unit or so called flash relay into a low flash rate per minutes, perharp 60-70 flash per minutes relay. This post has been edited by kjyong: Mar 26 2009, 01:55 AM

QUOTE(makaveli @ Mar 26 2009, 06:30 PM) where to get it and how to explain to them ? any suggestion ? Basically, if you never do modification on your car (LED signal lamp), the resistance of the circuit from car to car is mostly the same. What i suggest is. You get a flasher unit at the 'flash rate' that you prefer. For example 60-70 flash per minutes This only applied if all your signal lamps are working properly, left and right having the same flashing speed.

QUOTE(makaveli @ Mar 29 2009, 10:11 PM) ok,so can i get the relay at any shop ? or only specific shop ... Hmm.. I guess you can easily get it from the car accessory shop. Just tell them that you wish to get a low-flashing (normal) rate flasher unit / flasher relay roughly 60-70 flashes per minutes.
