We've shot ourselves in the foot yet again. We did it in Anfield late on, and this time at OT we didn't defend the one goal lead and had ourselves battered. I'm not going to create any excuses for this one, on the day, Pool rightly deserved the three points. Its not laced with controversy or anything like that which makes it a lot more bitter to swallow. Once Vida got sent off and they scored from the resulting free kick I knew it was gonna be a battering. Both penalty decisions were right on, and I knew Vidic would have gotten sent off for that challenge before the ref even flashed the card. I'm not going to jump on his back and call for his head, becoz he's won games for us on so many occasions this season and the past. Its just one of those bad days, and Torres absolutely pwned him. All I can say is a job well done to Pool, 4-0 against the Francos, then a 4-1 win against them bitter rivals at their own homeground. Must be an awesome feeling.

Well, at least I can find solace in the fact that we're still top by four points and a game in hand, so its not all that bad. Its gonna be a tougher dash to the finish, but true champions MUST bounce back, especially after a mauling like that.

Btw, sorry I didn't actually join you guys last night, was in the other side of Square, and right after the game I went over to a mate's place after a good plate of nasi lemak to drown my sorrows with some gin.

This was exactly the thing that I was talking about before the game. That we (Utd AND Liv fans) should respect the result whichever way it goes and put a hold on posting on each others thread.

I see a decent amount of congratulatory messages on the Liv thread from Utd supporters, and i expect some amount of respect from the pool fans as well.

If you have nothing good to say, then dont come in here and mouth off. Yes you have the bragging rights, and i completely accept that but that doesnt mean you come in here and antagonize us or make crude remarks about our club.

Im not gona bother reporting you for your behaviour that may lead to alota trouble, but i expect you have the decency to at least stop posting such stupid remarks here or edit your post.

Ignore the 8 year old will ya? He's obviously dousing in ecstacy right now. Maybe when he grows up and has a swab of pubic hair he'll look back and say, "Damn, I was an immature brat back then wasn't I?"

Err, not meant as a piss take to the Pool fans but we can safely say that they won't be getting anywhere near Wembley this season biggrin.gif

i bet our boys felt even worse than us..

being humiliated in front of their own fans?

they'll be back stronger.. i can assure u guys smile.gif

Rooney more than ever. After mouthing off about his disdain for his neighbours, the last thing he'd wanted was to suffer humiliation in front of his own fans. I'm sure this result will be the kick up the arse we all needed. All the talk about the quintuple must have gotten into their heads, and theres no assuming that the trophies are in the bag. Fergie mentioned that we must bounce back, and bounce back we must. Fulham at Craven Cottage will be the opp we need to set things right again. This result will be a mere blip if we can secure no.18. Let the Pool fans rejoice over this one, fact is, they'd trade places with us in a heartbeat.

QUOTE(Canopies @ Mar 15 2009, 10:19 PM)
what do u guys think about when your own fans leaving the stadium early.
*
Plastic fans. The kind who are rich (and fortunate) enuff to purchase the tickets but couldn't be bothered to actually support the club thru thick and thin - denying the true fans an opportunity to get a seat. These kinda fans should feck right off and never be allowed to come anywhere near the stadium. Like corez said, the real supporters of the club were belting out their songs even after the final whistle. Fact that they stayed and still voiced out their support despite such a humiliating afternoon shows the love they have for United.

Well, at least I didn't hear any boos last night. With the number of fickle fans growing in our midst its good to hear we've not experienced such a thing.

Well beating us 4-1 in our own homeground must feel like finding a fifty dollar note under your pillow courtesy of the tooth fairy. Its the stuff of dreams, and they managed to twat us in front of our own fans. I can understand all the gloating from Pool fans, heck, I myself have not been spared, and will probably be subject to all the homoliation right till May. Its just one of those weeks. I felt like shit for a good week when we got three nil-ed by Milan, this will probably last just a tad bit more.

Still, a look at the league table and it doesnt feel so bad anymore. But I expect the "double over them scums!" to continue till we meet again.

Nooo, I missed the war of words. Im a slowpoke. Cursed classes. Was the only fella wearing a United jersey, and repeatedly got stares from feckers I don't even talk to. Even the lecturer had a dig. God, wheres my razorblade?!

Ai, now that my head's more cleared up, I see that Pool fans have suddenly become a hot topic. All I can say is, Fyrekat is probably the fan favourite. If she resembles anything like her avatar, I'd let her touch my Michael Ballacks.

I demand a vetting process prior to signing up for LYN! Current passport photo and body measurements required! This will eliminate the errors and save us the embarrassment!

Isn't Fabio right footed? We could try and stick him in right back, seeing that we're kinda lacking options in that position with injuries and all. Not his natural position, but would probably be a more useful ball player than O Shea against weaker sides like Fulham.

Put yourself in their shoes. A thrashing on your fierce rival at their own backyard? Its the bragging right that follows.

As for ourselves, we are starting to get complacent with all these quintuples talks when nothing is certain yet. We have some tricky league games coming while we need some luck to go our way in both cup competitions (UCL & FA Cup).

So its best to stay humble, take a step at a time and see where it bring us by the May 2009.
*
Exactly. I don't mind all that. Its to be expected isn't it? The thing I hate though are fans who can so aggressively mock their rivals during their slump, but then go home and cry to mummy when the cards are reversed. Like madmoz said, if you can dish it out, make sure you can take it back.

All the talk seems to be on Pool at the moment, papers and articles seem to be concentrating on them being the most feared club in Europe and guidelines on how to rip United apart (ffs one game and its like they found the cure to AIDS biggrin.gif ) Don't mind it actually, all the adulation we've been getting prior to this has probably made us a lil complacent and taken the title for granted. This kick up the anus is what we needed. We'll just have to see who gets the last laugh come May

Lol, I heard Pool are the latest in thing. Better quickgrab their kits before they all go sold out. They're odds on for the league title and are the best team in Europe.

Overall pretty contented with the draw. Porto is probably one of the easier sides to meet out of the eight, but the beauty of the Champions League is its uncertainty. Funny to see yet another Liv-Chelsea clash, it seems as though the footballing gods saw that they were meant for each other. If ever there was such a thing as 'jodoh' in football this has got to be it.

It'll be all about exorcising our past ghosts this season in the UCL ain't it? First it was erasing the memories of Jose's dominance over us when we met in the past, and now its a rematch of the 04 quarter finals where we were dumped by a Jose-led Porto, which left a very bitter taste in my mouth becoz it looked as though we were the better team. It'll be a return to Anderson's former club though, so anyone gonna fancy him to get his first against them?

Looks like we've fallen off again. Haish, seems like squeeky bum time is taking its toll on the players. Thing is we still have a 4 point lead till the results of the Spurs Ski and Pool Villa is known, but losing to Fulham is a tad hard to take esp since we beat them convincingly twice already this season. Didn't see why Rooney deserved to get sent off though, fecking harsh. Guess Pool fans are going mental, it seems as though they've already wrapped up the EPL the way they're celebrating

QUOTE(madmoz @ Mar 22 2009, 12:58 AM)
talking about caring, is it me or has ronaldo gone off boil of late? most of the time i see him he seems to be either
a) sitting on his butt having being tackled, wildly gestulating at the referee or
b) standing still having stuffed up a pass/free kick, wildly gestulating at the referee or
c) standing still, quietly seething at the thought that someone dared to rob the world player of the year of the ball?

anyone of you guys share the same view? hmm.gif
*
Well the Best Player award must have got to his head, but to be fair to him, some of the tackles thrown at him are shocking to say the least. He gets kicked left right and centre game after game, and gets little to none protection from the ref. We've actually come out and went against his recent acts of petulance, and in no way are we condoning it, but he's been target to some unfair treatment for quite some time now its a lil hard to ignore. Probably should change his nationality to English and name to Steven to get more love

I think its because of his reputation. You can really see the bruises on his legs from all the tackles.

Don't tell that to the rivals though. They won't buy it

Hope that the 2 week international break will give our players a lil respite. Fergie needs to send letters to all national coaches to not pick our players haha
