Well, credit where credit is due. They've been playing some amazing stuff over the past week or so and shown the world that with Torres and Gerrard both fit they can defo play some entertaining football. I'm gonna have to applaud them, becoz as much as I'm a fan of United, I'm a bigger fan of football and this has been probably the best sort of football that I've seen from them for years. Now they've cut our lead to one, and potentially could leapfrog us before our next game, so its squeeky bum time as always. I'm not sure that they would have wanted this 2 week of international football break seeing that they've hit form. We'll just have to see when the season resumes.
Try to ignore those blinkered fans. If they think they can come in here and try to start a bushfire then they've got something else coming for them. Karma has a funny way of returning and biting you on the arse and maybe ur genitals, so its best that we try to keep low and humble until the final day.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Mar 23 2009, 09:32 AM) Ronaldo's been taking a lot of criticism (and some of the 'united' supporters have been even harsher on the lad ) but has it dawned upon anyone that this is a player who has in all probability been forced to stay and is not playing for the club he wants to be at? Its been discussed to death. Why resume the topic now? Yes, he's not the same Ronaldo we saw scoring for fun last season, or the player opposition defenders were bouncing off in 06/07, but the expectations to begin with were a lil over the top. 42 goals a season might never be repeated again, and frankly how many players actually go on to have three sublime back-to-back seasons. His attitude has not been the best I agree, but I've said before that this is the package that is Ronaldo. You either love him or loathe him, and fact is many rival fans would have him in their team in a heartbeat (I know many don't say it aloud though). Yeah the verdict is still out on him, but as long as he wears the Manchester United emblem on his chest and plays for us I'm gonna support him, not go on and boo him off the pitch.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Mar 23 2009, 09:48 AM) You do realise that i am not taking the piss, nor am i trying to stir up anything. I am merely trying to defend one of your players who is at times i believe is taking a lot of unfair criticism from your own set of fans. Never said you were. Just wanted to make it clear what my stand on Ronaldo was.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Mar 23 2009, 09:54 AM) It's different for me though. I've always prioritised hard work and heart over skill and ability. To lend a quote from "Pearl Harbour", "there's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer". If a player isn't fully committed, I'd rather he leave. It's the same way I felt about Gerrard when he was considering a move to Chelsea. You may say that I'm just saying this because the player in question is Ronaldo but it is genuinely how I feel. It's the reason my favourite player is Carragher and why I will always remember Titi Camara, Erik Meijer, Dirk Kuyt and Igor Biscan. They weren't/aren't the most talented but they give it 100% each time. Well like you said, this is an old topic and I think our opinions have already been made clear so I'll end my contribution right here Well I wouldn't question his commitment to us at the moment, becoz its not apparently clear whether he wants to stay at the club or not. The media likes to make a meal out of petty things. First they tried to dissect everything they saw about Ronaldo to have it point to a "I want out" kind off mentality. Didn't smile when he scored a goal? Yeah he's unhappy and yearns for Madrid. Walked himself off the pitch to get medical treatment? Oh noes, he just wants to get the feck out of United. Dumped Sergio Ramos' ex-gf? Oh he just wants to get things right with his future teammate. Like I said, he's not getting the same treatment as the other foreigners are, and thats probably the price he has to pay for being loathed by the English and constantly putting himself in the spotlight. He's actually come out to say that United is the right club for him at the moment numerous times, but papers won't print that, becoz they won't sell. I'm with you in saying that if a player doesn't have a sense of belonging he has the right to leave, but as far as my eyes can see, I've not seen him walking around saying he wants out. Ppl say his body language suggests that he wants a move, to me, its subjective. I've said it before and I'll say it again. As long as he dons the red of United, I'm gonna stand by his back and cheer him on.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Mar 23 2009, 11:49 AM) Well form will fluctuate over the course of a season. Steve McMahon hit the nail on the head last night when he said that while Man Utd will welcome the international break, Liverpool would like nothing more than for the games to come hard and fast. Like you, we made life difficult for ourselves after consecutive home draws against average opposition while we are at the top. It's important to peak at the right time. After a slow start, you strung together a run of games which propelled you to the top of the league but it looks like you've encountered a setback now. Remains to be seen how long this drop in form will last. Exactly. Every club will run into a bad patch of form. In Nov/Dec the odds were on Liverpool winning the league, and then they crumbled and lost a hefty lead at the top by dropping important points at home. Every suffers a dip now and then. Now its United's turn to hit a dark period after such a fantastic run of form. The league's beauty is that it rewards consistency, its not a one off, like the knockout competitions. Yeah, you lot would probably have not wanted the 2 week break to come and continue with your momentum, and this will be a good chance for United to get their act back together and resume our title challenge.

QUOTE(r i k h a i @ Mar 23 2009, 09:13 PM) Liverpool are doing well and Gerrard is currently in his best form. Hope he get injured during international breaks. Thats pure evil. No matter how much we loathe a certain player (or a human being for that matter) we should never wish harm or injury to them. Sort yourself out

Ignore the bitter City fan. Spent millions and will still win feck all. Struggled to get past a mediocre Aalborg in the UEFA Cup despite holding a two goal advantage. And the nerve of trying to sign Kaka! That was funny shite. Robinho looks disinterested and must have 2nd thoughts about his future at the club in the back of his head.
He can criticise Scholesy all he wants, fact is, our Ginger Prince would look a better footballer in his 40s compared to the midfield they currently have.
Added on March 24, 2009, 9:17 amIf Scholes could tackle, he'd be too perfect. That'd be cheating.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Mar 24 2009, 09:29 AM) Yeah. Scholes sucks. Liverpool sucks. Match made in heaven. 1 million during the summer k? You sure? For that money you could get 1/18th of a Barry.

Fecking hell, now we've got to contend against a super goalkeeper who always raises his game against us. Friedel's gonna play a blinder for sure.

Has anyone mentioned that our beloved Rooney's wife Colleen is now three months pregnant? We'll be seeing more Little Shreks around in the future. Lets sign them up!
Haha, on a more serious note, I hope being a father will now make Rooney feel more responsible for his actions and try to be a lil more patient on the field. As it is, he's stocking up on too many reckless yellow cards, some even after coming on the pitch for less than half an hour. But then again, he did say that taking the aggression away from him will make him a less bombastic player, so... its a catch 22.

No idea, think I read it somewhere on the Caf. Hard to tell though coz Colleen's a lil plump so its harder to notice. Guess we'll just hafta wait till the couple comes out to confirm it or till Rooney does a cradle celebration when he scores.

Its true actually. Was doing a lil research for my assignment few days back and lo and behold, Angola actually posted about a 15% real GDP growth, about the third best in the globe, well above the world average. Praise be to the United marketing dept.

The day United signs a Malaysian player is the day we should invest all our savings into the Malaysia economy.
