well...u can consider sxps 16...15.6" screen and RM4199 for base spec, full hd screen and great gc.last time this spec was RM4411.now drop price ady. as for asus n51vn, maybe astria can brief u on that

since i'm sxps 16 user, let me comment on it...
ya, u r right, it's a bit hot but is not a big deal for me as my previous laptop is compaq presario v3751au. i would say the heat is manageable. 1 thing that i already clarified a lot of times. the main source of the heat is from SOUTHBRIDGE which located underneath ur touchpad, NOT from PROCESSOR and GRAPHIC CARD. as for the performance i dont think i need to comment on that. the subwoofer is quite nice for a laptop. if u r basshead then i think u will like it.the dvd rom is extremely cool, in fact is my 1st time see this kind of dvd rom on a laptop. normally u need to press a button then wait for the trail to pop out but for sxps16, u just need to slightly push ur cd/dvd inside the rom and it will auto bring ur cd/dvd in. comfortable keyboard, quite quiet when u r typing and with back-lit, it looks so freaky cool. now let's talk about design and built. the design is nice, especially black but with 1 drawback, fingerprint collector( i clean my laptop once every 2 days).i would say it's 50% plastic and 50% aluminium. it has aluminium base and u can feel the metal most of the time.for me it's quite solid la..nearly forget about the screen.the screen also not bad and it's full hd. i will give 9/10 for this laptop. it definitely worth for ur money

what us the different in weight between k40ab and k50ab?

that shouldnt be too heavy right? but for me i will still choose k40ab.i personally think that its spec not so suitable for 15"

to be specific, for the money, u can get much better spec on other brand laptop(some laptops dont come with windows)

dell studio xps13 and macbook pro 13 may suit u. in term of performance, studio xps13 beat macbook pro13 a lot and cheaper as well. but macbook pro 13 is SLIGHTLY lighter(arond 200g) than studio xps13 and it's battery life can reach 7hours while studio xps13 i think only can reach 3 hours. both also over ur budget. studio xps13 is RM4199 while macbook pro13 is RM4499

asus n81vp and lenovo y450 how much??if she doesnt want studio xps13 and macbook pro 13, the only choice left are s42 and y450 with gt130m

read lee_what2004's post. macbook pro 13 already RM4499 but i think u quite suitable to use mac os x provided u r willing to learn.or else, y420 and sxps13 are the only choices
