Simple question: What is the MOST DIFFICULT Boss that you have ever fought in a game?
No matter a fighting game, MMOG, action-adventure, FPS, anything.

The term 'HARDEST' does not necessarily mean that you had never won against it.
Of course it can, this thread will be going that way too anyway
Sometimes, gamers intentionally tune up the level of difficulty to the max just for the thrill or it

'HARDEST' in this term, is a Boss that seriously drive you nuts to beat it (whether you did in the end or not), up the point of:
- searching for a cheat code
- ruining your mood
- breaking your controller
- ranting in a forum of how much you hate that Boss, and the game company that make that game

Come Get Some!!! the big brain was very hard. lol

Any coin-op games. The bosses are designed so it would it very difficult to beat it in one credit.

so far so good, hvnt found 1 that too difficult.

General RAAM in Gears of War insane mode. You either got shredded by his portable troika, eaten by his bats, or shot to death by the circling reavers.

The only way to beat him is get another player to replace ai Dom.

Boss: Vergil (Dante's Brother)
Level: Final Stage
Game: Devil May Cry 3, PS2
I fought this dude for days and even on the day I defeated him, it took me several hours and a bit of luck to put him down.
Most definitely the hardest boss I've conquered.

Boss: The Horse Keeper
Level: Random
Game: God of War 2, PS2
This guy wasn't meant to be that hard but for some reason he was impossible Used a lot of environmental attacks

The first boss in Ninja Gaiden.

Valkyrie Profile : Brahms

FF8 - Omega Weapon. I just beat it ONCE, and I don't want to face him anymore. It pain in the ass even if you lvl up to LVL-100. Without proper items, no way to fight him. To face him, you need to be quick to cast AURA on Squall, then use Hero on the party, cuz it ATk can exceed 10K... duh~ You can't cast AURA after you use Hero, note that. So it need to be step by step. But even before you done it properly, it can already kill you all.

It's HP is SOOOOOOOOOO LONG, that's need over 13 times of LION HEART to kill him ... now that's I called WTF ~

Devil May Cry : the flying bird boss (that requires to jump up the air-stairs )
Gears of War : RAAM (takes me several time retry, one mis-step = dead on spot)
Tales of Symphonia : Sword Dancer 3, Abyssian (requires alot of patient and hand skills..dammit)
Tales of Symphonia : 2 : Album Atrum #1 and #2 (one miss-step = dead on spot)
Final Fantasy X : All dark aeons + Penance (no need to say..)

FFX's key is Yojimbo ~~ Grand Summon him and pay him random number of gil, like 2773. When he point his head, means it's Zanmato. HA~
I'm not quite remember about FF7, but I don't think I got any problem over that game though.

really? my friend just spend about RM25 for hod4. and he use dual-wield.

Omega is hard ?? I try 2 or 3 times can tapao him already. No hero used, just keep cast aura on zell and squall only, not much of a challenge anyway. And just keep refresh when aura is casted, and set the "ATB keep moving even action on going" settings so you can act faster than Omega. And you dont need to max level to beat Omega anyway because level in VIII is meaningless, it's the stat that counts.

Ruby and Emerald in VII, that's what I called a challenge. The preparation jobs is so damn time consuming. Master KoTR, master mime and basically master everything is the best, max level (VII dont have a place for level boosting as in VIII), legendary weapon on all characters, and best part is, you aint guaranteed a win still with all those items because if luck go against you, you are FUBAR

yeah~ that time i was so noob.. not sure about the last boss name.. but it looks like fliza + cell in dragon ball.. or izzit the ice dragon..

Lineage II Raid Bosses are the strongest, need swarm of people to defeat them...

Other than that, all game I've played, no bosses I've never defeat... even it may took me years...

Yeah,that guy is hard.Those damn bats are annoying.

I manage to beat him twice on normal difficulty.Once by exploiting a bug,unintentionally.Once by really beat him,using Lancer and Sniper Rifle.

I think a few of the NFS Underground's last few races is very hard.

Somehow i found Emerald weapon much easier then ruby. Didn't even need Kotr and underwater and all <lvl 90 ... i just w-magic+quadramagic+comet and then mime and spam barret's catastrophe. of course final attack + pheonix and 4x-cut is there. Ruby on the other hand ... :S

lol, ff7, yeah consider those as difficult bossed cause in a normal game you dont need to get KOTR, 4x-cut, mime, etc. so in order to beat/fight them, you need to cari ayam, breed gigantic chicken, race with itik, and after few hours of playing, you only got a chance to get them, then you are only qualify to meet and fight them, so consider all the hard work is just for the boss.

Kingdom heart 1 sephirth more powerful....KH 2 sephrith is lausy already...normal mode lv7x can win it....on ultimate Master form u can win it under 5 minute if you lv 100

I cannot beat shredder..... everytime when u're about to kill a boss, they become red.
Fighting shredder, i've made him become red a total of 7 times (personal record)...
but everytime he becoems red, then he turns back to normal colour again... waffak??

Crossbow explode will drive the bats away.. then u just use Lancer to and swiss cheese him.. rinse and repeat.. Deal with those flying shit with crossbow also.. 1 hit will explode regardless where..

DMC4, Dante Must Die difficulties -
the stage where you have to "roll" a dice to proceed , and every nodes that u end up sure gonna be boss fight... dunno how many health stars and continues i used.

that haven't include hell and hell mode ...

Almost made me wanna snap the DMC4 bluray disc into 2 pieces !!!

Only realise these a glicth on the dice rolling after i finished Dante Must Die... LOL ... uber frustrations for nothing~

lol.u can time the dice roll man,u hit which number whn its rolling sure kena 1.and u must try hell and hell before u snap ur bluray (or give it to me )

Wow classic Clock Tower (PS1 game), never play it because it's too scary >.<

For me: GTA SA, not boss, but when tried to get in a running plane with a motorbike, I don't know how and how many times I tried but keep failing. And another one need to use Heli/Plane (forgot), need to fly under some limit if not you'll detected... Every time sure will hit the bridge or trees on the way lol.

And FFVII, I can't beat Emerald no matter how many time I tried, but I can beat Ruby after a few time try.

FFIX, I don't know why nobody mention @.@. It's not the main boss, just the boss you need to look after it, it's speechless, almost impossible to defeat. The name? Ozma.
Oh ya, and Tiamat in Memoria, I don't know how the hell can defeat this mini-boss, when he just swarm the fire, then all die no matter how much yr HP is. But somehow can defeat after spam all the things I have

lol...ozma n tiamat is piece of cake man. max lvl, n all start in trance mode. after few rounds recover to full n keep recovering.

Emerald : go in with less materia, nothing can hurt u and u can even do it in under 20 minutes (without underwater materia)

well , if u reverse the word "AIRE TAM" storm

u get MATERIA storm

the more materia u wear, the more dmg... with 2-3 materia each character, AIRE TAM will only do 2k dmg +/-


Ruby : go in solo (alone), then he wont "whirlpool" away your cloud and once the battle starts a few rounds, ressurect your team mates... he wont whirlpool again (wahah 3 on 1 now b****)

Ozma and Tiamat really based on your level

but once u hit really high level, these guys are easy , just long

I remembered one of the hardest for me was the ol' Baphomet in Ragnarok Online.

I was only a support Crusader, died just seconds before my team killed that monster

Neverwinter Night 1. The final boss. I quit this game at the final level because irregardless of what I do, I simply cant win that bluudy witch. Another game that I cant win without reading the walkthrough is FFX.

there is always a way 2 counter these bosses however some bosses are not counterable because they have random behaviours which makes it even harder

Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts 1 made me tear my hair out....i play until 3am finally win cause not willing to give up. I think i died 50 times or something.

there is no hardest boss there, unless its MMO boss, other single player boss is killable

Try beating Shredder in TMNT 2 back in the ol' Micro Genius(NES) days.

No continues and no save features in the game...think i took like 3 months to tear him into pieces.
