I bought a P2 Myvi last November, it was the second batch of MyVi SE. Yesterday my friend's vivi SE had been intruded by someone, stealing her Pioneer CD Player worth RM 480 bought at Eneos. It makes me shiver when she explained it to me. I've searched through the internet and found there were already hundreds of such case happening. Especially in Kepong Area, priority at Kepong Jusco & Kepong Carrefour. When I tried to alert those myvi friends of mine, one of them telling that I'm so out~ He told me that he kena twice at Kepong Carrefour already. After having my own myvi tested in my garage this evening, (taking out the front tyre) I found that it really bad luck to have a Myvi.

This is what they did on the Vivis..

1) Locate the cable connecting to the front bonnet.
2) Did something on the cable.
3) Did something on the fuse box. It unlocks all the doors and disarm the alarm.
4) Dong ~ He got everything under the sun!! shocking.gif

After you take your car, you will notice:

1) Aircond unable to function (most common)
2) Viper not functioning
3) Signal not functioning
4) Headlights or which ever connects to the fuse box...

I don't know how many of you out there had been a victim to this case, but a sincere notice to myvians out there. Please don't leave any valuable things inside your car. You would not want to be the next victim. sad.gif

Sorry for the loss, but perhaps not a good idea to tell the whole world about how to unlock the Myvi. I suggest to take those 'steps' out just in case some of these ppl are lurking in the forums

my friend mum's myvi got taken off from her just in front of her house. The thief just came too her and ask her to hand in her car keys.
when my friend told me this, i was damn shocked, because who would steal a myvi? Gosh.

I presumed the alarm system sucks badly, how can short circuit that cause the alarm system to power down able to unlock those doors?

Suggest myvi's owner replace with a better aftermarket alarm system to be safe.

Never ever leave valuables in your car.. no matter you drive a merc, or a kancil with state-of-the-art alarm.

I've been hit once.. and now im VERY careful with what I have in my car.

But i noticed, thieves loves to hit local cars cause the CD player can be taken out with easy. Try taking out the CD player on a Camry, Corolla, Civic... it wont be as easy as a proton/perodua.

And also, yeah, thier alarm sucks.. no knock sensor, no movement sensor. Only available sensor is when u physically open the door doh.gif

I would also like to add that for smash-and-take cases, it doesn't matter where you park (busy street, shophouse, etc), when you park (daytime, nighttime), as long as there's something interesting in the car, they would take it, and nobody would stop them. Try to avoid parallel parking too, becos it's so easy for thieves to ride past on a bike and glance inside cars.

You're driving a Neo right?
I think for Gen2, and Satria Neo (which has a built in player) will be harder to take out?

But if its those slot in ones (like Wira, Iswara) then its very easy.. unless u bolt it down.

Actually, if you go service your car at P2 SCs, you'll notice they know of too well their cars are easy to steal.. mega_shok.gif
They keep promoting antu theft brackets which should have been installed when the car is assembled.. shakehead.gif and they will even demo to you how to steal your own car juz to proof how easy your car is to be broken into~ wacko.gif

well as u all c all bonnet pop is use cable... so it is very easy to pop it out.. cos myvi dun hav door switch on the bonnet.. eman bonnet open the alarm wun sound... pls mod a switch there so when they open bonnet it will sound...

It is very easy to DIY a door switch from ur bonnet to the alarm itself..
for the best... modify bonnet pop up using electric motor..

How is that electrical thingy installed? Can explain any further? Thinking of changing the fuse box or tapping the cable close to the mud guard.

Myvi alarm does not go off when bonnet is opened.

The bonnet can be opened if you put your hand underneath ur number plate there from the bottom and pull the latch.I just did it just now for fun.
Very easy to be opened from outside.

Then they will disconnect the battery. No battery,no alarm when they open the door.

Once inside without alarm, very easy to do alot of stuff. They just take all your CD players and all.

U know wat.. I kena this thing once about few months ago when I park my car outside an apartment and the next morning, I found out my Myvi is unlocked.
I was like *stunned*
Then I check my stuff, luckily not much valuable stuff missing..
But the situation is like urs ;
1) doors look unlocked, no sign of forced entry.
2) fuse missing
3) light and aircond malfunction

I even thought that I forgotten to lock the car when I left it..
And 1 more thing, I think he took a rest in my car, as my passenger seat was placed in a relaxed position...
These thefts are really daring nowdays..

well... as u all know.. remove battery terminal and reconnect is same as reset alarm.. one alarm reset it will unarm itself... cos all alarm also same la... dun compare wit high end alarm..

Install a door switch in the bonnet is the best choice.... cos thief will run is the siren is sound... and pls.. add siren for arm/disarm sound... when they target ur car.. they saw u hav arm/disarm sound mean u mod ur bonnet compartment so they wun open it....

mostly they target those stock myvi

Next to useless. Open bonnet, alarm sounds, disconnect battery. That's like, 2 seconds?

But maybe gives u more peace of mind.
