QUOTE(tech3910 @ Apr 5 2009, 07:01 PM) http://en.expreview.com/2009/04/02/radeon-...reviewed.html/4i think dis is wat causing the confusion here. certain review uses ES where some review uses retail. wen loaded, the 4890 fan speed shud pick up pace faster den 4870, which explain slightly higher noise level. Added on April 5, 2009, 7:02 pmsounds like mini hair dryer............ Yeah, I tried before XD (2900XT) . Hmmm is it safe to run these cards at 80C~90C? I might change the fan speed profile later(yeah, buying it soon). EDIT: Checked the site, looks safe. This post has been edited by blindbox: Apr 5 2009, 07:27 PM

Well, noise was never my problem as long as it is not annoying. Flashing with ASUS bios should allow the use of their software?

Well... I'm not(will be buying in 4890.. countdown 12 days XD). Sadly, not all games support it. I don't know why developers don't. Dx10.1 increases performance not disable anything like PhysX does .

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Apr 13 2009, 06:28 PM) but bro, u do realize that the temperature will drop immediately when u stop the game. the heat won't linger like a boiled kettle bro, try this la. change your setting to window mode. before u run the game (in window mode), open gpuz and put the window'ed game and gpuz side by side la Don't know about you, but the rivatuner graphs do show data that is 1 minute ago etc, and also peak temperatures. That's the point of graphs anyway though right? Temp vs time. So just play the game for 1 hour and check your temps history(10 minutes is enough though). Also check your GPU load, which is a Load vs time graph. @jinaun: Wouldn't a better setup be 4870x2 on top? This post has been edited by blindbox: Apr 15 2009, 10:53 AM

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Apr 19 2009, 03:55 AM) was also wondering, the 4890 is only 256 bit =.=? but 4870 some are 512 bit... If you can find a 512 bit 4870, tell me (or source quoted wrong thing). You must be imagining things. The gpu is not meant to run 512-bit(it has to be supported by the gpu) This post has been edited by blindbox: Apr 19 2009, 07:17 AM

To everyone who has problems with getting Radeon 4890 to work with rivatuner, please try this page. Downlaod what they told you to download. http://www.guru3d.com/article/overclocking...adeon-hd-4890/2You cannot direct link the files(ben_panced tried miserably), they won't download unless the referrer is set to guru3d.

QUOTE(Jcsy @ May 3 2009, 02:29 AM) wat i meant was to further downclock, to save even on the idle power if idle draws 80w, if downclock can draw 60w? Try downclocking the RAM as well. Downclocking them cuts idle down to 40W. Overdoing your underclocks does result in some bugs though . I didn't do it cuz, well.... too lazy to try anything.
