See lo.. Maybe Lunch? ~_~

Btw... wanted to ask IF isit hard to find a parking.. Around the event Venue? as Mostly will drive there.. seri kembangan -> MMU.. Mostly 10-20 mins i assume biggrin.gif
*
Nah, don't worry. Our campus is well-known for it's spaciousness, there's definitely ample parking there as long as you come early for the strategic spots. Else you might have to prepare for a bit of a walk once the car parks near the hall are filled up.

May I inquire as to the nature of these 'books' you are speaking of? As for official policy, the only books allowed are Chihara Minori's photo albums.

is it july 11 or 12?

The Gundam Constructors Championship is on the first day of DaiCon, at 12pm.

One quick question, do u have to get a ticket for all events of Daicon or the tickets are only for the Chihara Minori Q&A session???
*
Tickets are only for the Chihara Minori LIVE@DaiCon sessions.

Otherwise normal entry is free for all.

UPDATES!

Good news for everyone! There's been a number of additional items allowed to be autographed by Minorin:

1. All ORIGINAL character CD albums that are voiced by Minorin.
2. ORIGINAL Seiyuu Magazines from Japan (Voice Newtype, etc. etc.) with Minorin on the FRONT COVER.
3. ORIGINAL photobooks of Minorin.

Anything else that isn't on the F.A.Q page on our website or here IS NOT ALLOWED. There might be additional items later to add on the list as we get permission from their management.

However, photography and video taking are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED during her autograph and concert sessions. Sorry to say, but the usual Japanese rules on this remain to be enforced during DaiCon. Please cooperate with us on this matter.

Question:

Is Photographing allowed in Daicon other than her autograph and concert session?

and is photographing in Daicon area allowed other than Minorin's area during her autograph and concert session?
*
Um... yes. The no-photography-recording rule only applies for Minorin's events. Common sense should apply right?

no pics and vids? why is it so strict? just want to know.

I believe it's a law in Japan or something. IIRC it's to prevent the misuse of photos of artistes. One of those weird quirks of the Japanese entertainment industry.

It's really a shame that no pictures taking is allowed for minorin's events. Not even a 1-min of free-for-all? :/

Anyways, do update with the schedules & all events location asap, I believe all visitors need to arrange their time and what not. Only a week's left.

QUOTE(flame13th @ Jul 5 2009, 11:01 PM)
Meh.. What's the point of buying the ticket to see her if you can't even take a picture of her.

I'm going to take some other pictures during the event then.
*
QUOTE(qwer312 @ Jul 5 2009, 11:42 PM)
well..maybe the strict photo rule for japan singer only...or maybe the management company problem again..

No any photo rule during last time two seiyu come to visit melaka...and they are happy to take photo by us.
*
Generally, the higher the artiste's profile is, the more stricter the photography rules are. It all depends on the manager's discretion. I will say this though, that in publically scheduled performances and events, photography and video recording are strictly banned.

even for May'N herself, she took a number of pictures with her fans during the arrival to SG at the airport tongue.gif

Organize a search party like we did for Aya hirano? brows.gif
What if they find our cosplayers too sex doh.gif since they think that our school uniform is already too sexy............ doh.gif
*
Back in AFA the airport thing was also actually organized by the organizer, so it's not exactly people camping. I'm sorry to say we won't be organizing such a thing for Minorin however, and please do not try to be ninja or superman, coz that might leave a bad impression if done wrongly.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 6 2009, 03:30 AM)
suggestion: update ur FAQ page too on the added allowed item for the autograph since people may know/visit about daicon website but dont know/visit about LYN. smile.gif

=edit=
to add in
http://www.hmetro.com.my/Current_News/myMe...icle/index_html
http://www.hlj.com/product/GRFFTP-02 <-- is most likely the figure in question

if its true, saber in bikini is 'terlampau' in those moral police definitions, then TFM figure display could face troubles if said moral police happen to pay a visit to daicon (ohai cosplayers lulz)

so to kurogane and the daicon committee: any steps taken to prevent such folks from invading our otaku culture thats already under enough heavy exaggeration by tabloids as it is?
*
That is not a major concern for us right now. As long as everyone acts accordingly there shouldn't be any trouble.

Also, Metro so far has been going for the shops rather than targeting events.

hi, i noticed this in the FAQ page of Daicon "Is there anyway I will get her autograph or watch her session without purchasing the ticket? - No"

So does this mean that those who does not have a ticket will not even have the chance of seeing her? Since she's the main reason i'm going, the rest are just same-old, same-old.

The ticket prices are really expensive.... sweat.gif though i wont mind paying 50 bucks if it was Aya Hirano brows.gif  drool.gif

Sorry if this question has been asked before.
*
We will not gurantee non-ticket holders of any participation in Miss Chihara Minori's events.

As for tickets, we still have the RM 150 ELITE and RM 50 ENTHUSIAST tickets on sale during the event to participate in Miss Chihara's LIVE@DaiCon events. Otherwise all entry is free of charge.

oh ok, that sucks, 50 bucks just to see her...is pretty steep.

So, even those without tickets can still enter her concert but can only watch from afar? like the seatings on 2nd floor of the hall?

I wonder how much u guys paid her to attend/perform in this event, so many sponsors summore sweat.gif
*
Sorry but the second floor WILL NOT be open during the event.

I don't think RM 50 is a steep price to pay for both days. Last year's CF's ticket prices were RM 30 already for two days and I don't see them having any major events like this plus they had even more commercial sponsors than us.

All the earnings we get from the tickets are going fully in to paying for the event itself. The committee isn't earning a single buck from the event and it's more like... OUR WALLETS ALREADY RED FOR PAYING FOR THIS EVENT T.T

is it a "Special Performance" or a concert? Daicon states it as the latter.

since i'm not an otaku or an enthusiast (just an ex-anime fan), i find that the ticket price is expensive.

anyway if i can get a glimpse of her on Saturday i'm satisfied, heh. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
It's a concert. Not as long as others but it's still a concert.

Obviously if you're not an 'otaku' or an enthusiast you'll find the ticket prices are expensive. It's like asking a fujoshi to shell out money to buy some h-doujins (pardon the comparison here), but I think we've set at a reasonable price for those who are REALLY looking forward to join this event.

QUOTE(qwer312 @ Jul 7 2009, 08:57 PM)
hmm...not really a whole MMU event, more accurate to say it is a MMU Cyber event...
don't compare it with SGD to RM currency conversion rate, compare it with standard of living of two country. SGD 118 diamond VIP ticket price which can get autograph from May'n still considered as affordable and reasonable by singaporian who have salary SGD2000 per month...but not for a malaysian with salary RM2000 per month.

And beside of May'N visit, AFA08 also got invite famous gundam designer and King of Anime Songs to the event, and exhibition of Shonen Jump anniversary and well known figure manufacturer in japan...ppl only need to pay SGD 5 or 8 (RM12 or RM19) for the one day/two day entrance and they can watch May'n concert without pay extra fee and standing at the same place as Enthusiast which at behind of ppl who got buy concert ticket...

CF main problem is to rent a venue for the event...but i guess daicon no problem for the venue since the mmu grand hall is more easy to rent by society and maybe free at all. And some budget from STAD and sponsors also can help in organize this event...
*
Actually after being involved in such an event, I'm honestly surprised with the ticket charges of AFA. If you calculate the talent fees and air tickets to invite each personality in AFA and what not, added in with the cost of the venue and stuff like sound system setup and etc, SGD 118 for each Diamond Pass is considered CHEAP. I did hear rumors of AFA organizers taking quite a big risk with AFA and almost went red but I never knew how true it was until I got involved in DaiCon. Of course I'm not giving out the exact details but definitely we're in big danger of running red ourselves even with all the support we get from MMU management and our sponsors

DaiCon is definitely not AFA and we're not really competing against them. In fact the whole idea started because we all wanted to invite a female seiyuu to Malaysia because both consecutive years of GACC invited male ones and we wanted to get something fresh for a change. The idea really started out soon after GACC 08, which was waaaaaaaaaaay before AFA was even announced so there was no 'competition' or whatsoever with them. But AFA did give us a lot of idea on how to handle a big scale event, to which I am thankful I made to trip to.

Anyways, we hope to be able to have our visitors leave with an enjoyable time here at DaiCon, so please do come and support us!

yes i dun know the real cost of bringing minori to cyber...but i start to feel like "Only rich ppl can get good things, poor ppl pls avoid it as possible"...
I feel like it alrdy is a commercialised event...maybe afa promotion too over for it, but the evaluation of its event still depending to each ppl personal like i love figure and gundam but u dun like it...i dun care about super star but u care about them.

And i think if u want seating at daicon, u need to buy rm250/150 ticket for it...rm50 enthusiast ticket for standing only, no chair to sit. And if u want to compare the ticket price of these two events, it is as below...i rather buy the entrance ticket than enthusiast.

Daicon VS AFA08

AWSM (RM250, autograph and seating)
VS
Diamond VIP pass (SGD118/RM286, autograph and seating, included 2 days entrance fee)
Elite (RM150, seating)
VS
VIP pass (SGD68/RM165, seating, included 2 days entrance fee)
Enthusiast (RM50, standing behind Elite)
VS
Normal AFA08 entrance ticket (SGD8/RM19, standing behind VIP, included 2 days entrance fee)
quote from http://www.afa08.com/mayn_concert_ticketing.htm

Uhh... in AFA, WHAT SEATING LOL? IT WAS KANDANG LEMBU LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I know because I was in the VIP section during both concerts in AFA. No chairs provided there, period.

Real cost for DaiCon I can't tell, but we're in the 6 digits already, so go figure ~_~.

Also your statement of "Only rich ppl can get good things, poor ppl pls avoid it as possible" is pretty moot. It all boils down to the choice you make on what you want to spend on. I'm not exactly flush with money, but I still managed to go to AFA if only just for the concerts. Would you be spending nearly 500 SGD to go there instead? I'd wager you'd probably spend it on a new "insert whatever you like" rather than that.

Remember that DaiCon doesn't have an entrance fee either, so you can all try to crowd behind for a look. At least we aren't charging people RM 20 for that! Of course we do not guarantee any good views of the stage for that though.

UPDATES:

First of all, the event schedule, general floor plan and doujin booths layout for DaiCon are finally up! Everyone give a big hand to our webmaster, Silencers!

We've also put up the General Rules and Photography Policy for DaiCon up on the website. Please do follow the rules or else we'll be forced to kick you out! I sure hope that doesn't happen!

We are also proud to announce the CELGames Roadshow at DaiCon, brought to you by GameAxis Malaysia! Go and show off your skills on the latest games from FIFA '09 to Red Alert 3 and many more!

Also we'll be having a Weiβ Schwarz Tournament cum Workshop on both days of DaiCon so feel free to participate or find out more about this popular TCG from Japan!

The FAQ is also updated with the latest list of autograph-permissible items for Miss Minori's autograph session as well as a few other updates regarding DaiCon.

Finally, and the most important thing. Due to MMU security policy, all visitors to the university MUST be registered at the entrance, but we've managed to lift that requirement by using a special Visitor's DaiCon pass! Please download the pass from our website, print it out on a piece of A4 paper and place it on your vehicles dashboard to gain hassle-free entry to our university! The pass also allows your vehicles access to the Visitor's Parking Bays during DaiCon, so please keep it there at all times during our event!

QUOTE(qwer312 @ Jul 9 2009, 08:53 PM)
This is just merely guessing only unless you can provide proof of it that cost to bring minori same with the cost to bring may'n...as common known by public, there is a bad habit of some of our local merchant keep raising the product price when they found others selling the same product with higher price, and never drop the price even when the cost already decrease at later time if compare to high cost at before.
*
Actually AFA spent a lot MORE to bring May'n there than us. First of all, the organizers there paid for FIRST CLASS AIR TICKETS for her entourage (manager + the 5 dancers + security detail + backup personnel) and five star hotel for all of them too, from what I heard. I don't know the exact cost, but you can check out the air tickets price and hotel room online right? I'm definitely sure it's already 5 digits there. There's also the talent fee (amount unknown, but probably in the region of few million yen) to take in to account as well, and that goes on TOP of the travel and accomodation. A friend also told me they spent about 1K SGD for her everyday there too, which was about 5 days (Thursday to Monday). I'm pretty sure that the cost of May'N is astronomically higher than what we are spending for DaiCon IN TOTAL (plus all the other costs).

In fact, our whole aim for DaiCon is to have fun and prove that Malaysia also can do events like this. ALL of our committee members have not even ONCE thought of profiting from the event, so your accusations are actually a really sad blow to all of us here. We've already tried to make the pricing as reasonable as possible and if you believe that the tickets are too expensive according to your own yardsticks, we understand, but insinuating that we want to profit from the event really hurts our hearts.
