QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 18 2009, 12:45 AM) Wonka yes the Sony 50mm F1.4 is sharp where it is in focus but at F1.4 the point of focus is very small. achew set your shutter speed to at least 1/200s and you should be able to disable the pop-up flash from appearing in the picture while killing ambient light. Put your flash relatively far from the subject. The sensor should face a wall that the pop-up flash will bounce on. meaning the 'head' of my flash shd point to a wall??? hmmm...but if i shut off the front flash..it'll bcome silhouette right?

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 18 2009, 01:41 AM) Nope, the camera points at the subject. The pop-up flash is wide enough to spread around represented by blue lines. Eventually it hits something which then goes to the flash. The red part corresponds to the sensor of your F58. It faces the wall. The green line what the pop-up flash contributes to the picture - if you use HSS, it automatically doesn't appear in pictures. You may want to set the flash zoom head to 105mm to make a harsher, concentrated light. ohh..this is really helpful =D will try it later when everyone went to slp =.= btw about the zoom thingy...105mm = harsher?can i say stronger?

@nickilala.. just my newbie point of view...pic4 focused too softly which it kinda blends in with the bokehed background.. the rest no comments...probably the only comments for the rest is that those r kinda feel like a snapshots to me..perhaps need to make ur message/subject stronger??

QUOTE(SHOfrE3zE @ Mar 18 2009, 10:45 AM) well u're almost there. the rain does not look realistic enough. here's my try: ya..the rain was just a quick step in photoshop to see hows the overall feel of the picture..for my real shot i might hav think of sumthing else to provide the rain effect >.< btw if i nt wrong..i think the diff btwn ur rain n my rain is that u added some bigger 'rain' drop to stimulate the drop hitting on some surface??

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 19 2009, 03:52 PM) MechaHerc, the red part means for example, if the magnification is 1:1.4x, then let's say: Nikkor 50mm F1.8 * 1.4 = 70mm F2.4 So it's not a F1.8 lens anymore, and its focal length also increased. Image quality decreases a bit also due to the glass in the converter. neo_lam, I turn it off so I can shoot fireworks continuously. Not too long lah if not you get the white pixels. boss so can i say that F1.4 is nt F1.4 if its used on APS-C ?

QUOTE(kysham @ Mar 19 2009, 04:30 PM) achew: No. What albnok meant was that the adapter is similar to what a teleconvertor would do. Example is if a teleconvertor has a magnification ratio of 1.4x, then it will magnify the focal length by 1.4 times, but at the same time also "magnifying" the aperture (by magnifying, I mean making it smaller). On an aps-c camera, there is no glass involved and you don't actually have any optical magnification involved. The crop factor came up due to the fact that the aps-c sensor was taking a smaller portion of the image circle than a full frame sensor. (hope you understand my explanations.... ) ya..fully understood..don worry because i've came across with some comments like given a same lens(50mm F1.4 for example)..if u use it on cropped vs ff...it would produce diff bokeh..but i was thinking that isnt that the shape or other properties of the bokeh are usually determined by the lens itself rather than the body??
