mine can allign perfecly...u drill one hole...then mount your fan with one hole only....then u just need to drill other 3 hole through the fan hole(after drill screw first the 2nd hole before drill 3rd hole and 4th)...walaaa...perfectly allign...if u mark the board it will be hard to drill becoz the drill bit will move lil bit when u start drilling...hope this help coz mine is perfect
