a seller sent camera flash & some lenses to me through POS LAJU, it's a big box, when it arrived, the box was cut opened (he did not pack very safely in the 1st place... just duct tape with no outer layer zzzzz) & the flash unit was taken, there're stickers written "X-RAY SCANNED" & "DHL" etc on the box, after a few visits to my local post office, some postmen said probably custom confiscated........ while that particular postman who delivered didn't weight it & compare with the initial weight, before delivering........ the chief lodged a report for me.........

what do you guys think/anyone encountered such case before? please enlighten/guide me, thanks............

if custom take it, they will take the whole package instead of 1 item.

1st) Sticker written X-RAY SCANNED, why they need to cut open?
2nd) Probably custom confiscated but why must return you the box only? Normally they take whole package instead of 1 item

TS, hopefully you will get back your item.

its poslaju, why would it go through customs?

one of the people who handled the parcel on the way to you inside post malaysia must have stolen it.

Claim the insurance with poslaju. For parcel up to Rm300 even item cost more than that.

Next time better ask seller to pay the insurance for item above RM300. I was told by pos staff, if you opt to pay insurance, your parcel got high priority.

Customs don't check domestic post. Overseas only. When the customs check they are still not allowed to open the parcel unless the owner is there with them. That is why if your stuff got held you or your appointed agent has to go clear with the customs need to open the parcel in front of them and show them what the item you bought. That's the real procedure which was told to me by a custom officer there.

Custom also told me that and I have to open in front of them last time.

When I open, one of said 'O... ini... saya pun ada kat rumah'. I just wink.gif .

Damn... pay tolls, fuel and RM18 for form for nothing.....

Yes...and it irked me more when they stupidly say why cannot buy here when I show them what I buy? Duh! If I can I would not bother to get from overseas if what I want can be bought here!! Either they are stupid or just like to see us suffer shakehead.gif

in domestic poslaju & custom issue :
i sent a parcel from KL -> Labuan recently.

when i asked the officer how soon parcel will be delivered, he told me abt 3days and he did mentioned something "sebab kena peri kastam lagi".

i was curious and asked why need to go thru custom?
and he explained that Labuan is DUTY fREE area.

same applies to LANGKAWI.
