My point of view is: in whatever industry, if a publisher/ developer / author do not get incentive for their own product of hard work, they won't get the fund to keep their business going, the pirate kings do on the other hand.

When they do not get the fund, they lack the foundation to move forward, improve in term of tech and expand.

That is why to date here in our Boleh Land we do not have a solid label company, game studio, film production company, entertainment firms. Look now - Where is our great talents in such industries? They are mostly in oversea sadly to say. (probably due to biased policy too, imo) hmm.gif

Gaming wise: For what I have to say in contradict tho, is that the root cause is still being the high price of original software VS general average income. Bear in mind a lot of us here are casual gamers, the spending-vs-income ratio are not in line with western/Jap countries, yet. Maybe they should release games in our region at a more competent prices.

Regardless of the current situation in terms of spending vs income ration in the end i feel, we still have a choice. It's just like smoking, why do we insist on paying rm9 a pack for something which would eventually kill us? Why do we still end up buying a console which supposedly is over cost but say we cant afford the games that we play on it? Why do we spend tonnes of money upgrading our PC but in the end buy pirated to play on that same PC? No matter how we try to justify the reasoning of piracy, in the end it boils down to choice. But dat doesn't change the fact that piracy is still wrong and illegal.

In terms of releasing games with competitive pricing, i think that is already being done, going for less than rm50 a pop but maybe that is just for the pc....cant say for consoles.  Though is for the older titles but since we're so cheapo we could probably wait....if they ever do get released tongue.gif. There is alwiz the second hand market.

First of all, I am not justifying the piracy. What I offer is a suggestion to remedy piracy issue, that is, to lower the price to make it affordable among the lower tiers in our region. Like original movie DVDs - which China and our region are selling at a lower price than other regions.

One earn USD3000 in US, Xbox360 is selling at USD399 and DVD at USD60.

One earn RM2000 in MY, Xbox360 is selling at RM1600 and DVD at RM200.

A working kid in US can easily afford gaming. That is the point of affordability i was trying to say. Nonetheless we ain't a decision maker who can set the campaign "Lets Make Gaming Affordable in Africa" and make minimal profits.

Secondly, playing ori games doesn't mean one is a holy saint that we can go rebuting and insulting around. Take a look around, ppl around us have problem to feed their kids these days.

Thirdly, I am not a jack sparrow fan, and I am not trying to spark a war of whatsoever. Lets be realistic that piracy is never an easy issue to solve, and the kid doesn't want this thread to get carried away. So Peace brothers, rclxms.gif go Ori maxZibel.

Flipacoin2k. Please dun mistaken my post as trying to start a war of words. I'm am just voicing my point of view over the issue and is not my intention to supposedly rebutt and insult anyone. Not saying that ur views are wrong, but again i iterate wat i was trying to convey in my previous post, it is still about choice. Choice as a consumer. Why do ppl who cant afford it still carry a credit card around and in the end come into debts running 10s of thousands? Is alwiz choice.

Yo bro, no problem smile.gif Everyone is free to voice their opinion, plus I am still on the same sheet of opinion as you, so peace bro.

Yeah, I still remembered the day that we bought and enjoyed the music cassettes and the black label disc (not sure if you are as old me tongue.gif ). Those were the glorious days of genuineness. Little piracy, affordable.

I just hope gaming should not be something luxury. I wish that everyone should enjoy it, it has a lot of benefits rather than cons dun you think? nod.gif

( IMHO it help to reduce crimes too, not contributing to it, like what that Jack Thompson claimed) doh.gif
