I'm using a JimDunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah Pedal JH-1 ,I've just bought it for a year ,and this is my very first Wah Pedal, so I've a question on it. I've been told that wah pedal needs replacement of the potentiometer once it's worn out ... How could I know the potentiometer's worn out ? I feel the wah sound isn't as good as it's new recently, so i doubted if it needs a potentiometer replacement. If it does , where can i get the same potentiometer ? and How could i change it ? never do this before.. thanks .

I use a GCB-95 for about, oh, 5-6 years and it still sounds good.
I also have a Zakk Wylde wah (basically a modded JH-1) for about 2-3 years and it is still going strong. I had to repair the battery connection once (more on that below), but it still sounds good.

And yes, I use my wahs a HECK alot (mostly to cover my bad mistakes)

But if you're worried, you can always take it to a good tech and have them fix it. Ng at JS Music just repaired my Wylde Wah (the battery thing) and he did it very well. Might send my GCB-95 to him to install the Fasel inductor to give it a little more warmth and depth.

Thanks . How much it costs u to fix the wylde wah ? The fasel inductor can be installed into those models which don't have it to modify the sound ? I thought the circuitry is fixed ..

Nope. Haven't done the true-bypass yet...... but doesn't really bother me. My cleans are still sparkly clean

And yes, you CAN solder on a Fasel inductor.
