Guys, I've bought this item from Orange Gadgets for 107 USD (75USD + 32USD shipping with insurance). Shipping price kills me but I guess u get a Bluetooth GPS receiver around the same price here. I'll update this thread when it arrives here (maybe this week).

PS : Anyone thinking of buying this item, better hurry. Only 200 units left (as of 24th March). Otherwise google "igpsd".

I got it yesterday after 6 days from US  It fits into Ipod/Iphone dock connector like below:



Take note that the module may not be compatible with some casing. I have to buy a new casing because of this 

Plugging in the module for the first time, it took 1-2 minutes to get my location. After that, I'm getting consistent signal. Tested driving from my office to home with XGPS route. Works very well. Didn't test the voice instruction as my radio unit doesn't have aux in. Once inside home, I lose GPS signal within 2 minutes, which is normal. Get it outside my home, it acquires my location in 5 second. As a bonus, XGPS also works as an accurate speedometer. Now I know my car speedometer is 10% slower 

XGPS uses Google Maps for maps & directions. You can download maps offline from http://xgps.xwaves.net/ XGPS requires Internet connection for directions/routes. Fortunately u can download your routes before driving (eg from home/CC/office etc), and save it for future traveling. So don't worry, it works well in Ipod if u know how to use it.

Checking in Google Earth shows that accuracy is about +- 3 meter. Comparable to any other GPS unit, and I believe much better than IPhone 3G's built-in GPS.
