anyone know the price for guided tour for jungle trekking in taman kinabalu? The route will probably be Kiau View Trail and continued with the Silau-Silau trail. Or the Liwagu River trail. Thanks
Try contacting the Sabah Forestry Dept. Maybe they will have the rates and advice which jungle trails is for beginner and which is for hardcore.Added on May 3, 2012, 5:16 pm

What I wanna ask is about the jungle trekking there. I've been googling about jungle trekking but I wasn't sure if it is really jungle trekking or Mt Kinabalu. So I'm asking the experts here for informations like : Is there any website that provide tour package for the jungle trekking only (because we would want to gain some knowledge about the stuffs there, not just walk) , price, and stuffs like that.
Please do PM me because I don't really think I have too much time on lyn nowadays.
THANKS A LOT !
Jungle trekking in Taman Kinabalu, not hiking up Mt Kinabalu trails to the summit. Please do PM me because I don't really think I have too much time on lyn nowadays.
THANKS A LOT !
There will be various jungle trails in Taman Kinabalu, from easier routes for beginners to more difficult trails for mediocre/hardcore trekkers.
As for the Mount Kinabalu trails, there is a trail from Mesilau-Summit Trail-back (down) Timpohon for the hardcore trekker. This trail covers both main trails to ascent the Summit trails to the summit of Mt Kinabalu.

I don't think we are doing Tabur. we are just hiking the simple trail from Kemensah village to the dam. There are also views from the hills behind the quartz ridge. I don't think I want to clamber up the rock faces of Tabur.
Klang Gates Dam Trails - start from Zoo Negara/MRR2 to the lake and back. Fairly easy trek.Bukit Tabur - divide into 2: Tabur East & West. One is so-so, the other is fairly difficult with some parts requires rope to climb up/down. Do start climb early in the morning, ie 6am, as in the late morning the heat on the rocks will be very hot for one to touch(you need to grope your way on certain stretch, and if you touch the ridge stone, you will "burn" your finger)
Note: For Tabur hike, advisable to report at Taman Melawati Police Station stating how many members in the team and once finish hiking to inform them everyone is accounted for.
