aiyo, orang bandar attitude. what u expect? 5 star service meh. the fun about this is unexpected event that call for everyone to find a solution , not just pointing finger to the leader. u could do something but u did not speak up and a experience hiker wouldnt want someone like this who have higher expectation . if he can't lead why not take up to him and once finish the hike, stay where it is rather than ranting your experience here.

I thought just better for non professional climber group to share light information on hiking trails or jungle trekking. I find climber groups are very professionals and talk of altitude and oxygen about their mountain trail. This is not but just a medium hike Bukit not gunung. If more hikers agree to open this new thread than we proceed or else let it sink at the bottom of the page. Tq

I have been joining groups from  and Meeting since September last year. So far, have been to Saga Hill, Angsi, Datuk, Kutu, Nuang, Ulu Semangkok, Rajah, Broga and Tok Wan and for waterfalls to Lata Medang and Chilling. They are not hardcores and they also have simple hikes to Gasing Hill and Saga hills. There are also Gunung Tahan and Ulu Sepat trips. Join them and you will find a new group of friends and at all levels.

that's great ettige. i will find out bout the group . i had search for info about hiking group in lowyat and google search but very few talk about hiking activity. when we talk about hiking, the term means hiking the bukit right ? my objective is not to climb hill or go water rafting , canoe etc. it's not my ambition on camping trip as well because im too afraid of any encounter with wild animals like wild boar or tiger . so im not that adventurous person anymore unlike the younger generation. i just want to hike and sweat as a form of exercise. my first hike in selangor is bukit puchong yesterday and i find it good enough to make my shirts sweat. i will try again to go deeper because someone already mentioned about fine and tresspassing. i think i haven't reach that zone yet yesterday.

i noticed some hikers carrying backpack behind. is there anything essential to bring beside this things.. disposable rain coat, water bottle and small first aid kit? what's in their backpack if they hike for fun and come down in few hours. i just like to know if i miss anything here. probably food stuff i guess.

what are the tips when beginners joining any elite group for hiking? im sure the elite won't like newcomer to slow them down. when joining groups like that, it's best to train a little bit am i right?

can the moderator pin this thread for good. i think this topic should be separated from the holiday destination topic. it keeps submerge into black hole and needed someone to bump it.

if i need to know if this kind of snake is dangerous, where should i be asking?

i think it's best that an Adventurous or anything to do with camping and hikes is given a new space for discussion. There's too many of those Countries Topic sink this important discussion about climbing, canoeing, water falls, species, adventure gear etc. perhaps new Forum is open just for this rather than mixing with Japan, Langkawi, France Trip, How long to get my passport, where to get my passport...

should it be under hobby or sport section? let's make a proposal so that more topics can be open under hiking, jungle trek, waterfalls, survival skills, knife , climb, type of shoes, backpack, canoe, GPS, compass, Man Vs Wild , adidas kampung, etc etc..

We also used the same route as naughtybones. And I think it's open during weekdays as well cos some aunties and uncles were telling us to be careful if going during weekdays, when it has lesser people. Though personally, I have never been there during weekdays.

Thanks!

Well, that's what we were told. Robbery and stuff. But then, I think this happens in other places as well. But if you guys intend to hike Bukit Kiara, don't leave your bags in the car. Other than this, we had no incident at other places. *fingers crossed*

I think it's tru. I went up bit gassing that day n saw a few thugs r feeding monkeys there. There r 3 of them with swollen face. Better to go during peak hours. I did not know bit kiara has a hiking path. Nice?
