This sunday got event. want to tag along ?  brows.gif

Haha, tbh, the emoticon freaked me out a lil.

If it's a real thing, mind sharing more info on the event? your own or ... organized by some group?
Maybe others might be interested as well.

Location, fees (if any), transport, time and other necessary stuff..

Any age limit ? more concern on upper limit.. haha

Well, conquering 2 mountains in a day. Sound interesting to you ?

Looks interesting.
Though, I am a complete newbie in hiking.
Do you think it's advisable for fresh bloods to join this event? Last thing I want is to drag the group down (and get blacklisted for any other events.. haha)

Just do this in order.

1. Broga Hill - Semenyih (not include Tok Wan trek)
2. Panorama Hill - Sungai Lembing
3. Ketumbar Hill - Cheras
4. Saga Hill - Cheras (route A ignoring waterfall trek)
5. Tabur Hill - Ampang

Then you tell me whether you could proceed from there or not.

Telling from my own experience.

Thank you for the checklist.
Much appreciated.

hi. it's not recommended for a newbie to join this hike, else you won't be enjoying. there is no nice view at the peak. better is to do datuk prior to this.

let me explain a little about the terrain. from starting point to gunung gap peak, you have to go through steep and slippery bamboo trail. i think this is the tough part with fallen bamboo leaves and not much tree for you to hold to. same tough effort required while coming down coz it's too slippery. it's better to have a hiking pole with you. from gap to ulu semangkok, the trail is nice with ups and downs. and lastly you have to cross the gap from gap to ulu semangkok.

hiking is a journey itself. you can progress slowly, don't have to rush. the mountain is always there.

+1 on the description of the trail but -1 on the view.

The bamboo session slippery session only happened for the first 10 minutes of the hike. Another 10 still passing through the bamboo before the trail is wide and clear and assume another 25 to reach GAP. You can also add on that there is a fork junction when exiting the bamboo trail and take note not to exit that fork which is located on your left smile.gif.

Did you try camp at Ulu Semangkuk peak to see the view? I guess most did daypack because there is no water source here. Little to know that the trail beyong the Ulu Semangkuk peak (head straight) will eventually lead you to smaller peaks.

Even if day pack, you should still see the hotels located in Fraser's Hill from the peak's entrance - right turn where left being the peak which is mark with a beirut.

Wow, thanks for the effort and clear description thumbup.gif

If you really want to learn to hike, do let me know and I will try to arrange my time to lead you. Will only be free after May since I am busy with certain issues at work.
*
Sure thing! Will keep you posted after May. Maybe some basic hiking for the mean time and preparation (proper gears and all)

No problem as we are here to discuss with each other about the trail and condition.

For beginner, all you need is very simple. A good pair of shoes and your determination to complete the hike. That's all.

Invest when you are really into it. Those can buy later.

Noted. Thanks bro.
Wow, you are super helpful la. Haha.
Not to mention walking hiking trail map gps encyclopedia.....

There are still lots of mountain that I have yet to explore.

This weekend I am free and if you want to try out hiking in Broga Hill do let me know the soonest.

You could bring your friends along if you want since it is an easy hill.

There are almost 150+ mountains in Malaysia which I have yet to scale and most are pretty unknown to me sad.gif.

Slowly explore, still taking my sweet time.

Broga Hill is super easy to be honest, but if you want to hike easier type - we can head to the one nearby to Subang - Serdang Hill (30 minutes hike) or Puchong Hill (15 minutes hike) but both got not much of the view compare to Broga at Semenyih.

Oo, I'm cool with any hills. Haha.. would be great if there are any that I can solo for abit just to get the kicks.

I'd be happy to join since I'm kinda nearby but lately my job is killing me so during weekends I become damn zzz.... >.<

I did 1/4 of Chilling cause it started drizzling so have to turn back for safety reason. Went to Kanching & managed to go pretty high up but I forgot to route de, Kanching is nice, peaceful & wasn't crowded. I'd be happy to go back there again to picnic at the top haha.

The more the merrier, decision still up to aidono though.. haha
Or when I get familiar.. hmm.gif not quite happening yet. laugh.gif
