I thought just better for non professional climber group to share light information on hiking trails or jungle trekking. I find climber groups are very professionals and talk of altitude and oxygen about their mountain trail. This is not but just a medium hike Bukit not gunung. If more hikers agree to open this new thread than we proceed or else let it sink at the bottom of the page. Tq

Hey, lets form a group of newbies to go on a day hike around kl/pj trails. Just light trekking for a start then maybe we pick up from there. Im not that fit togo for moderate or hardcore trails yet. Like you ive been looking around forums and groups but most of them are pretty hardcore. Im free most sundays. Would be nice to have a companion to tag along.

I can join you on the 13th and take you to the lake. What time? Shall we meet at 7.00am at the Zoo entrance?
*
Oh that would be nice, hackwire?
Etigge we r not exactly at tip top condition, so last thing would be to slow you down...

I don't think we are doing Tabur. we are just hiking the simple trail from Kemensah village to the dam. There are also views from the hills behind the quartz ridge. I don't think I want to clamber up the rock faces of Tabur.
*
Oh ok, my mistake. A simple trail hike would be good enough for a start. Pseudogene how many in your group? Btw i have never hike in klang gates b4 so any question ettigge would be a better person ask.

Added on May 2, 2012, 8:34 amSo tentatively we set d date on the 13th may? Anybody has d coordinates where we can park our cars?ettigge? Need a good safe place to park our cars so that we can hike in peace of mind without worries of our vehicles being damage or worst stolen. Anybody else wanna join up? More the merrier.

Don't worry. There's a car park at the trail head where we have to pay RM2 per car. I think it should be safe.
*
Ok one less thing to worry about. Btw which hike is tougher tabur east trail or west?

You are using Garmin?

is bkt gasing trail starts at the telekom tower or the temple. went up there and saw the temple route is closed with zinc door. is the hiking in bukit gasing only open for public during weekend or wat. i thought of going there to hike last wednesday but saw nobody there at around 4pm. patah balik and went to bkt puchong instead. there got more people.
*
I have always started d gasing trail at the housing area after exiting fr jln gasing. Ive heard the trail ends somewhere at angkasapuri but not too sure about it. Best would be to check d maps for d trails i guess

Use a footpod for smooth chart, or use pace smoothing.. but then mine it spikes like mad too..
for my group i am estimating less than 5hrs to reach summit..  pace of beginner around 5~6hrs
*
Apparently d ambit is not compatible with d footpod yet. Hope they will upgrade it in d coming firmware. And yea using a footpod will prolly get a more accurate speed while walking

Try downloading garmin's Basecap software with katest malsing maps. You should be able to see if there are any trails around that place.
