Me & my friend tried there once but because of didn't conduct our research well, we lost the path toward the mountain and ended up elsewhere laugh.gif From the blog I found http://thequantumsingularity.blogspot.com/...aten-track.html it seem bit challenging.

And the way in along Sungai Congkak is full of leeches.

Leeches?? ohmy.gif Are there any super/ultimate/best/ultra ways to prevent leeches? icon_question.gif

Leech sock & repellent? I have not try either one of those, so don't know how effective they are. During that day I have had leech climbed up until my thigh level as I was wearing short that day. laugh.gif
But overall, they are not all that scary, just that bit of itchy.

I've been very lucky to not encounter any leeches before in my previous hikes sweat.gif So what to do when get leech bite? Leave them on? I heard it's painful to pull them off..

for me i wear long, double socks, long tights, as to minimize possible penetration by the leeches. works fine so far.
not to say 100% though because sometimes i got them at camp site where we no longer wear as many clothes like during trekking laugh.gif

okay, i will put on all these protection nod.gif

That is the first time we actually encounter leeches too, throughout many of our journey.
It's not all that painful when we peel them off, actually it doesn't feel painful at all laugh.gif
Just that the wound feel itchy.

Alright then, hope it's no pain at all sweat.gif

If you are referring to Chenuang, hardly have if you use the Sungai Congkak route. If you used the old way via Ampang, high chances you will encounter them plus it is a distance to trek. Possible encounter wild cats too.

I'm entering through Congkak recreational park, is that the Sg Congkak route? rclxms.gif

Didn't finish Chenuang in the end, there were massive undergrowth towards the end which made it almost impossible to pass through without parangs/tools. But will definitely try again tho! >:) My friend mentioned Gunung Datuk, and I saw pics of it that seemed very fun! Anyone been there?

Gunung Datuk is a very common hiking ground for a lot of hikers. You could use the GPS to lead you there.

You will need to register yourself and pay RM5 for entry fees.

Nice view, approximate 2 hours up 1.5 hours down for beginners.

But somehow someone got lost at Datuk recently.

Luckily nothing goes wrong to her.

Back to Chenuang, it is not a common trekking ground as most people are unaware of it. People hike the well known Nuang either via Pangsoon or Janda Baik. It is best for you to engage a guide to Chenuang if you are first time there. Just pay a minimal fee and make the arrangement with the Selangor Forestry Department.

Wow, guess it isn't really recommended to go for solo hiking unless one's very experienced sweat.gif The entrance is through Hutan Lipur Gunung Datuk?
