theres good and bad about gravel..my opinion is that if u lazy to change water often, and want to see the aquarium as clear as possible, put some gravel. since all the stuffs will sink at the bottom and stays there..i clean my tank about once in a month throughly. (dont take my advise haha) those gravel can be cleaned using a special kind of suction tube which look like this.
its quite cheap.
