Hey, since goldfishes are supposed to be coldwater, what temperatures are you guys keeping them in? I know if I use an aquarium fan, the temperature should be around 28C.
Also, if I'm interested in Ranchu, can I keep around 1 or 2 in a 1.5 feet tank?

I have gang of up and running eheim canisters and HOBs that I can juggle around my existing aquariums If I do go with one single goldfish in an aquarium, will they display some sort strange behaviour? Like will it be shy or inactive? I mean, some fishes are meant to be kept in groups, while some prefer to alone. I can't find any info about this any where. Hey thanks bro! I'll give it a thought, but my wife will probably refuse letting me having another aquarium, so will have to make do with the ones I got. But my biggest tank is already a planted tank Also, I don't think shrimps and goldfish can mix...

Can recommend an LFS that sells decent Ranchu? I went to a few in PJ area but the quality and condition of the fishes ain't so great.
Also, I'm looking for young ones. No fun getting an adult sized fish and you don't get the joy of raising the fish from young.

Anyone tried Goldfish with sand substrate? I don't feel comfortable with 'holland' sand as it seems like it might choke the fish.
Also, does the type of lighting matter to the goldfish? All I have are lights suitable for planted tanks.

Tried looking at Xian Leng and Aquatics International. It's still the same as you said. Big difference in conditions for those smallest ranchus. Those in XL floats 45 degrees downwards and some drifts around like balloons. I like the tank conditions in AI much better. But it's kinda hard work to find those with the nice curve at the back though. There are those mid-sized RM50 ones, but I'm not sure if they're worth it. Maybe I'll try IKANO later this week. I remember that they have those from the japan bloodlines. Trying to look for orange and white coloured ones. I wonder if it's possible to find a colour/pattern similar to this locally? http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/cust...m/c01ksawd4.jpg Added on June 8, 2010, 12:08 amDo you guys treat your fish with any medication to remove potential parasites or anything when you first bought it? That's a very common plant. Elodea. Cheap too. Another option for similar type of fast growing plants are water sprites, hornwort and indian fern.
I got it from Yee Fatt Aquarium. You can get it from LFS like Irene, 88 sunnwaymas etc.
