yes it is very noisy at 100% full blast fan speed i'm going 2 ditch 4870 for GTX285 one day 2 kill off the noise i've been suffering 4 more than 3 months

processor clock 1348Mhz
memory clock 1100Mhz

my "reliable" means many forumers think it is good lo and also this gc has many reviews in some tech sites
btw, Asus's gc more expensive

My casing is on the table side. Besides CM690 lets you mount a fan at the bottom, i choose 14cm silent Blue LED fan. CFM is kinda low but it blow cool air to the galaxy reference fan. If i use 12cm, i had to remove the screw to clean the mesh while 14cm is just remove the retention plastic clip.
40% seems like no air, 65% performs better air flow.

i ran mine 90%-100% while gaming @720/1440/1120 setting.... and use the game audio as audio masking for sure the fan noise wont be a hindrance....

Well you can't compare Palit GTX260 Sonic and Galaxy GTX260 cause both are using different board. Palit choose to strip down the production cost by using alternative voltage controller chip and cheaper quality PCB board. Reference board is black colour and uses reliable voltage controller.

If Palit GTX260 Sonic vs Galaxy GTX260+ OC tri fan, i would happily take the galaxy even is no longer being a reference board but pack with a very good third party cooler.

Everybody praise Palit for being very cheap, but the market price gap has close so tight that Palit is not really a good choice to get it with cutting cost materials.

The lowest and reliable is still Galaxy GTX260+ from robycom at RM 690  which uses reference board and cooling, easily hit 700mhz core like previous owner piumiu mention before.

that's a rather sad fact. all 55nm GTX 260 are using the intersil controller thingy rather than volterra. that means u can't control the core voltage through riva tuner. but can still change the vcore in the bios

is that mean if i oc my gtx 260, i cannot adjust core voltage thru riva tuner & have to change thru bios??
is it 65nm version only has better oc result than 55nm??

well, mine fan speed is default 40% so the temperature is pretty normal especially in Malaysia.....damn hot

But isnt the palit gtx 260 sonic has greater cooling than leadtek gtx260?      Since palit is using custome cooler wihle leadtek using stock cooler...

There is a review someplace on the net that compares the Palit dual fan custom cooler versus the stock nvidia cooler. You maybe surprised by the reviewers findings....
