i know a lad who used to work in monash as vice principal in msia, he tells me that monash malaysia is a tier 2 uni similar to curtin standards.

he then proceed to say that your degree would say nothing about your wherabouts of study, but nicely it has a different name.

erm. if i'm in your shoes right now, i will ring the faculty (or school) which you are keen in as soon as possible. ask them to allocate you someone to handle your case and from there correspond regularly.

Monash has consolidated faculties to a single campus la.

if you're doing Engineering, there's only 1 campus - Clayton

if you're doing IT, your campus is Caulfield

i'm not sure about Acc and Finance and Comm, but I do know the Arts faculty is in Menzies Clayton where I work. Law is also only Clayton. (then again, it's damn bloody hard to get into Law @ Clayton because it's the best Law faculty in Australia)

yup. but just don't go around broadcasting that to the sunway campus students. they will get extremely agitated to the core. it is customary, for the sunway students to mock the students in australian campuses as "stupid, for paying more than double for something identical".

you are absolutely right about the degree (or course) name; they differ to a certain extend. anyway big firm employers typically know how monash works and one look at the transcript, they can tell the origins of your campus.

heck! i can even point out to you now. your transcript typically contains the name of the unit alongside the unit code and each respective unit results.

for example (using the commerce degree), take two very similar unit offered in caulfield and clayton; Principles of accounting and finance. the one in caulfield is AFF1000, whereas the one in clayton is AFC1000.

the F denotes that the unit is from caulfield and C, clayton.

sometimes i wondered what's the benefits study in Aus... there's a lot of risk perceived... I mean sometimes my friend who was msia degree holder keep telling me not to waste money and time on studying economics or business oversea, for them this course are just the same at msia.. There's a high unemployment as well for oversea grads... hmmm

I've walked in campus grounds after 12 before, it's not spooky. Melb Uni seems scarier because it's all enclosed, Monash is so wide open.

Frankly speaking, i sick of here... there is already tons of conflict occured within a year. I think is kind of their mentality and attitude. Oh, btw, all of them were from the Foon Yew High Skool in Johor. 20 of them....i was lol...wtf... a group of bond coming in...didn't want to accept one's culture...
