oho, so you missed out on leeching off that guy with the 5Tb server.

There's this crazy guy, been living in Halls ever since i came to Melb. Over the years his storage increase to 5Tb. all on the internal DC++ network. It's crazy, the guy has like every freakin thing on his computer.

as long as you dont youtube in halls its ok. Besides, free foxtel in Roberts/Richardson(forgotten which one), everyone watches soccer there when a big match is played.
*
eh off the record, you were directing this "nokia, doing commerce, where u living ? in halls or outside?" to me right? i have no idea, why that weird bloke is replying instead.

internet is one thing, but the most important factor is the walking distance from the campus. heck, i'm not gonna walk during the winter!

that's because MYR is weak in general; it is independent of the AUD

if you have read the recent bloomberg interview with zeti akhtar azi in singapore, you will realise that the government believes the november interest rate cuts and stimulus packages are adequate.

hence i doubt bank negara is going to buy MYR to boost its value up. furthermore it is hoped that a lower MYR value, will boost the export decline as well.

so aussy prefer on mac notebooks than regular laptops?
*
that statement doesn't make any sense and down right illogical

pricing of an identical item is dependent on a lot of factors. apple products are cheaper in the states; does that imply, apple is the official computer choice of americans? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

QUOTE(empire23 @ May 14 2009, 09:19 AM)
Lower currency rates boost exports, because our exports will become comparatively cheaper.

Eg;

1 PC Malaysia makes cost 5k ringgit, which equals 1k pounds in the UK

with a lower exchange rate, the cost of the same PC is still 5k ringgit, but not it's 700 pounds in the UK and thus cheaper to buy with the pound.

This lower price is attractive to importers and gives them a huge incentive to buy Malaysian. China artificially keeps their money down by force to make sure their products are cost favourable in the international markets.
*
thank you for elaborating my point further. not just in regards to export, it is also an incentive to lure investors back. heck, even china is losing its comparative advantage (despite proclaiming itself as a capitalist, they still run ala communism) to countries like vietnam.

@ KVReninem

frankly speaking, the so-called burden of our parents is the least of government's concern. that is probably the last thing on their mind. sorry to burst your bubbles.

can, most definitely (with ease)

so long that we don't go and buy ourselves a honda civic FD1 and then attempt to "zheng" it up to be a honda civic type R.

i don't see how we cannot survive the ever escalating exchange rates. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

i know the lawyers who did the immigration for the Kayu workers. Very well recommended since they can bring in these type of people(ie. uneducated foreign worker with dodgy qualifications) to Australia.

Oh i honestly didn't know that you can opt for a master in accounting, if your undergrad major wasn't.

Wouldn't you lack of the necessary foundation required to enhance your understanding?

oic. then there is something for me to ponder upon then.

it is very likely for me to extend another year or so, after my bachelor; this will definitely give me some variety.

contemplating to "patronise" UoM this time as i didn't pick up the offer previously

i wanna pose this question to seasonal melbourne peeps.

are there any apartments around the caulfield east (monash caulfield campus) area?

one quick look, i know that the apartments here don't exceed 5 floors.

i'm looking for a 2 or 3 bedrooms (not a house) with those typical swipe entry card access, in that area.

could anyone be kind enough to shoot some street names for me to scout over the winter break?

thanks

Added on June 1, 2009, 7:33 pmadded: it is relatively easy to find these type of accommodation in the CBD area for example: docklands, QV et cetera.

Malvern is a great place to live in. It's zone 1, there's a tram line and a lot of great food shops nearby. Highly recommended.

my sentiments precisely. so during this upcoming winter break (if i cannot find a part time job), i wanna explore those viable areas for sure.

@ spacelion & KVReninem

quote from bloomberg today
QUOTE

Australia Unexpectedly Grows 0.4%, Skirting Global Recession

looks like the AUD will continue to appreciate aggressively (against MYR) in my humble opinion...
