Unrealistic? That describes about 80% of fiction books out there.

I like Twilight. I think it came out at just the right time, just after JK Rowling ended Harry Potter. Now we have another book to pine after...

I like Twilight because I've always had a soft spot for vampires (blame Anne Rice, okay? wink.gif). I love the back story, the subplot and the colourful character surrounding Edward and Bella.

Edward? okay, so he's supposed to be good looking etc, but by far, my favourite vampire is still Anne Rice's band of vampire. Lestat, Nicki, Louise, Claudia, Armand...

yes me too! i like anne rice better.

i guess it's because when I read twilight it feels very much like a teenage flick. yeah maybe i'm already too old for that genre. but yeah edward is cute.

Actually, I was at a Kino in Jakarta where there were holding a book reading for twilight just before the movie came out.

There were 50-60 screaming teenage girls at the book reading... Obviously, the books target demographic.

Loli-bait definitely but i was kinda embarassed to be there so i paid for a book that i was getting and got the hell out of there.

Still, in a teen media that's dominated by the Olsen Twins, High School Musical and Hannah Montana, a book about emo vampires and sexual abstinence is the sort of 'safe' product that's being peddled by the religious conservatives to teens in the states.

i did take a quick peek at the movie, its all drab and dull, even the daytime scenes.

i also heard that the movie didn't even come close to how good the book was.

so i am thinking of giving the first few pages a read before spending X dollars and let it end up in my recycle box.

I don't usually engage in this type of behavior, but I hate this series and all that it stands for so much that I'm going to troll this thread.

A short analysis of the series:
