Was on Bijou before, with around 60 hrs of burn in. Not very good on the 5800XM, but incredible on my Sony Walkman. Just bought a cheap Shure SE102 for my 5800XM, burning in now.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Mar 4 2009, 07:45 PM) Hmm, have a lot of airline earplugs lying around asso... Maybe should cut holes in them --> cheap Comply foam earbuds... Hoho... 300 hours... better leave my Bijou for my walkman lah. haha.60 hours? Try 150 hours OR if possible 300 hours... Seems the dynamic drivers on the Bijou is a bit degil... And which one are you using? 2, 3 or 4? And a bit unfair to compare the Sony to the biasa-biasa only 5800 lol... I hear that some Sony Walkmans can make stock earphones sound good (joke, joke)... But yeah, it might not be the best pairing the Bijou and the Tubey... Will try out my pre-burned-in Bijou 3 (malas wanna burn in sendiri, hopefully it's burnt in for 100 hours already) when I get them and update... Cheap SE102? How cheap? SE102 is the cheapest Shure available so far, I got it for RM225 brand new. Not cheap to the normal person, but cheap as in "hey it's a RM225 shure" cheap. Added on March 4, 2009, 7:50 pmonly 1 hour burning in, already sound better than my Bijou(BTW it's a lvl 3) already... This post has been edited by scph50004: Mar 4 2009, 07:50 PM |

for those wanting to buy an X3i/Bijou, can ask walabies or yuheng in bulk orders section. I got mine from them. Highly recommended sellers too.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Mar 4 2009, 09:41 PM) Just to clarify, its playing some sort of sound (may it be music or loops of pure noise) through your new headphones repeatedly to ensure the dynamic drivers (READ: speakers inside the earphones) settle into their intended state, giving you the best sound possible. Bijou's built quality is miles better than X3i... the cables near the bud end of my X3i splitted and left the copper wire inside exposed. It's some sort of a really unclear truth/myth... Some say it's essential, some say don't have such a thing... And yeah, I think it applies to ALL headphones, only the cheap ones don't change that much after burn-in... As for the Bijous, it is highly regarded as slightly inferior to the X3i, but I think it replaces it (unfortunately)... Inferior, as it is not as clear sounding as the X3i (supposedly), although after (a very loooooooooooooooooooong) burn it process, it's supposed to clear up a bit. Built quality is supposedly crap better then the X3i though, although I have yet to see this personally... @scph50004: Why not try the Head-Direct RE2, sounds to be more up your alley... It's available for around RM180+- with a free Fiio E3 (ONLY available online from its website, that's the main problem lar... Plus it needs to be amped for best performance)... Hmm Head-Direct RE2 ehh... Might consider, maybe after I got bored of my Shure. |

QUOTE(tabletennis @ Mar 4 2009, 11:03 PM) aiya,x3i no longer in production d...oni have bijou....still rm170,jz asked from walabies n yuheng that r the sellers...does bijou has better sound if compared to x3i? you can try to find 2nd hand X3i in the trade zone, but I think bijou should be okay... for the price it's a good and affordable IEM. |
