From symbian-freak website,
Someone is developing multitouch on our tube though it is software based simulation .. great news for that .. hehe

resistive touch screen could do that as well like ipone multitouch technology, hope the result promising

i installed Garmin XT 500.30 on my tube v11 2 days ago. i am using integrated GPS since its FREE.

but i have issues locking to the satelite. i already standing in an open area under the sky 10m away from tall buildings running the Garmin XT on my tube & set the remote gps to the nearby petrol station location i am standing. And my status bar is only 1 bar.

How do u guys lock your gps to the satelite?
by jus walking around to get 3-4 bar on the status bar?

or

by jus standing still and simply press to go to any destination and wait for the 'Awaiting Better GPS Accuracy' to load? but for my case,it mostly stops at 80% and i stand under the sun like a fool for 30min and sometimes yet, still havent finish loading vmad.gif

Sometimes i manage to lock on the satelite after 30min of waiting. but my position i standing is not the same as it appears on my gps. its difference by 30m. eg. i am standing beside the road,my gps shows tat i am standing at an opposite building which is 30m away from me. izit normal?

Then when i restart my hp, i need to repeat the whole process of long waiting to tried to lock onto the satelite again. izit normal also?

Any sifu can help me answer my questions since i am a noob in GPS stuff. notworthy.gif

Do u enable A-GPS? It is very fast when A-GPS is enabled. I get 3 to 4 bar for the signal.

i disable it since it is quite costly coz i am using singapore prepaid. i also disable the 'Network based' under positioning methods since i dono wat it is use for.

so if i use a-gps and manage to lock onto the satelite,do i need to turn off my a-gps to prevent further charges?

and what if i close my Garmin XT or restart my phone, and after a couple of hours,i reopen my Garmin XT,do i need to use a-gps to get a lock again?

and thx for all the replies notworthy.gif

Last month when I went to Kota Bharu, I followed Jerangau-Jabor road. This road have to pass through kampung and felda. I try to lock my position in several places through out my trip and guess what? Some places need more than 10 minutes for GPS but most of them take less than 2-3 minutes for A-GPS. So, I think if within town you can get lock easily below 1 minute (A-GPS) and it is true here in Kuantan.

i thought kampung area should be able to lock easily coz very open area without much tall buildings. mayb my place here signal not so strong coz surrounded by flats & hdb.
