Since we talked about kirim surat to protest the terrible Streamyx service, I hack up a very rudimentary letter.

If you use the letter, please check the spelling and grammar mistake. I am no English Major. smile.gif

If your English is better than mine, I humbly urge you to help me (and help all) by enhancing the following letter.

Dear Sir / Madam,

We are the users of Streamyx broadband in Malaysia. We have been paying our monthly bills on time, for years.

When we initially signed up with Streamyx, it is to our knowledge that Streamyx will provide us with quality broadband service. However, after we paid the bills, the quality of service (QoS) from Streamyx has been going from bad to worse.

Lately, the Streamyx line we pay our good money for, has given us nothing.

For example: People who have signed up for 2Mbps (Megabit per second) lines are getting 5Kbps (Kilobit per second) speed when trying to access foreign websites.

And this has happened nationwide.

From JB to KL, from Kuantan to Penang, millions of Streamyx users are suffering.

Dear Sir / Madam, we have paid our monthly due with our hard earned money, but Streamyx has cheated us by NOT providing us with the broadband they have promised us.

We are citizens of Malaysia, and we are asserting our right as citizens to demand change !

Either Streamyx provide us with quality service, or we demand the government of Malaysia to open up the Telephone System for other ISPs (Internet Service Provider) to serve all Malaysians.

We hereby signed the petition, as a protest !

Please note that the letter has couple of spelling mistakes.

I've corrected it.

If anyone downloaded the very first version of the letter, please download it again.

What you said is true.

Personalized letters bring much more attention than their generic counterpart.

However, a letter still is better than no letter.

And I? I will write my personalized letters.

Gimme the email addresses / snail mail address and I will sure kirim surat to them.

Get them to print it out, or to write a similar letter, and then mail the letter to the following:

1. Their State Assemblymen/women,
2. Their Parliamentarian,
3. Their State's Chief Minister / Menteri Besar,
4. The minister of (whatever silly ministry),
5. The Prime Minister
6. The Media
7. CAP or whatever "Pro Consumer" group/ngo they can find.
8. Whoever they think might be helpful.

This gomen needs "face", and if we start to compare to Singapore, they'll ask us to move to Singapore.

So better not include Singapore, at least not now.

Regarding the "worst ISP in Asia", I dunno.

There are other countries in Asia which are pretty much in the same deep crap, such as Laos and Cambodia, for instance.

BTW, I have sent email Guan Eng and Jeff Ooi, and tomorrow I'll go to Penang gomen's office at 28th floor of Komtar tower to state my case and hopefully (crossing my fingers) the Penang gomen can say something rather unkind to TM. smile.gif

Tomorrow is Monday, all the gomen office will open. If anyone got time, go knocking on the gomen office doors, get as much support (FROM INSIDE THE GOMEN) as we can in order to put pressure to the "ATAS" to change.

It's futile if we fight against the ENTIRE gomen. There are simply too many of them !!

If we can make friends (abang-adik) with people INSIDE the gomen, we will gain a lot of allies and they can fight FOR us too, from the inside.

Remember, the gomen is NOT our enemy (not yet, anyway), TM is our enemy.

Kill TM and we can free up the ISP field. When there's competition, the service will be MUCH BETTER.

If enough of us participate, I'm sure the "Atas" would notice.

Especially that "Atas" would sit on the PM throne in March, and he wouldn't want his boat to be rocked too hard.

Just came out of Komtar.

Spent the morning talking with some folks in the Penang state gov.

Guan Eng and Jeff Ooi are not in, they are in KL. Parliament thingy.

So I talked to some of the "advisors" to Guan Eng, they too really pissed at TM for the shitmyx f*ckups.

I dunno if this meeting would result in Guan Eng open his gold mouth or not, but wait and see lar ...

Hey... how about you guys?
