I'm just started to use this Explore and its supposed to be 3.5G etc.. Is this true 3.5G or speed is capped to 1mbit dl? I know for sure the sim card profile showed 1024 dl.

QUOTE(SkYY @ Sep 1 2010, 10:28 PM) good for you where is your location btw? High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also dubbed 3.5G, 3G+ or turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.0 Mbit/s. courtesy of wikipedia. 3.5G is just the technology, not the speed. there is no speed cap actually, just most good reception location get likely dl speed of 700 kbyte/s. if you get higher than 700 kbyte/s then it's your good luck Thanks for the info. Are you sure no capped? I used this MDMA software and it shows that DIGI profile as 1024DL, 128UL while a Maxis profile showed 8096DL and 2048UL (HSUPA) and my blackberry Celcom is worst, with a profile of 384DL/128UL. I haven't test the speed cause I will be wasting my 3GB limit but latency of digi is about 180ms (RSSI -71dBm) compared to Maxis 100ms (RSSI -93dBm) if test to local Malaysian server. Can anyone else test using the MDMA (http://www.nerve.org.za) and check their profile and see if their test speed is faster than their profile? I just got tired of changing providers and being cheated by them, some said theirs is 3.5G and the modem showed 3.5G but speed is not more than 384K.
