That should not be the point... for me it doesn't matter whether there are many torrenters or not.. i pay so i need the service.. if they really dont care i pay 188 per month.. I will find a way to crucify them enough that people will start realizing what they are getting into..

The service providers should not degrade their service .. after 1 month or so.. I thought Digi Is different .. but it seems.. they aren't different at all..

ISP lying to you... this a common verb in Malaysia... Digi is no different .. the problem is they are not admitting the lack of attention and quality of service they provide.. Hence this is consider stealing money from people..

Just want to share some of my experience. Sometimes, when I think about it, which ISP in Malaysia is good and problem free? Practically NONE! I have used Streamyx (which always have problem with their speed, 3 out of 5 days is either slow or cannot connect, they claim is my area problem. It have always been that and nothing is done until today. They don't seem interested to fix the problem after all), Maxis (worst than Streamyx, offical complaint to MCMC 20 times, they even charge money for service that they can't provide) Celcom (service was good at first, but after moving from one taman to opposite taman, speed drop more than half, call them to complaint, technician come and check, call me back and say that is normal OMG!), P1 (I believe everyone know their problem, again another 20 times offical MCMC complaint) and finally landed at Digi. I don't seem to have any other much choice. Digi, so far have been the best telco to me, although they are not problem free but they are the one who least give me problem. So far, out of one month, perhaps I only have two to three days slow line which for me is very good compare to others.

My own opinion, as the fact we are at Malaysia, we need to bear with this, sometimes slow, sometimes no service. All this happen to all telco and basically there isn't much choice. Now I am working at Singapore and stay at JB. JB is worst still, I only have Celcom, Maxis and Streamyx but streamyx is out of question as I do not have phone line here. Celcom and maxis can forget it, service sucks so I still end up with digi. Digi is using Edge here which is slow but since I am not heavy user, I am OK with it, at least it have not give me any problem yet. Like my friend say, you want fast, huge download quato and problem free, get out of malaysia, go singapore or other more advance country stay pay the price. In Singapore you can get 10mbps there which is normal speed.

The truth is, unless our corrupted goverment turn otherwise, we need to bear with all this suck ISP. We all know, the goverment is only favour to certian 'people' which is clearly not capable of providing service. Look at all the wimax license given out, what happen to it now.

Just sharing my thought.

Digi doesn't have the same level playing field like other telcos.....
If Digi can act freely.... it will be in par with Singtel and so on already...

So u want to rant, want to suck, want to scold, do it  with Malaisia government

Totally agree here. The first thing must change is Malaysia Goverment. How many of you realise how digi got their 3G lisence? If not because of third party, there will be no Digi broadband at all and all of us are still stuck with the rest of the sucks ISP. Our goverment can even give license to losing money company.....instead of giving to ISP that can do their work.

This is Malaysia Boleh.... rclxub.gif

DiGi sucks brick no doubt. But IMO compared to others it sucks the least. U Mobile also good IMO.

OT - you might want to try U Mobile, now available in JB. Or any of the other Singapore cel cos - I think the waterfront area (by that I mean the areas along the Johor Straits, not the dead city project) can easily get 3G from Starhub, M1 and Singtel. I tried before.

there is only starhub and m1 signal at my place but is weak, one bar or sometimes two bar. I don't think the speed is going to be good. Haven't try U mobile and I do not see any Umobile here as well. It seem to be a rare telco at JB.

P/s: Imagine if Digi was given the Wimax spectrum, I believe they can be the leader. Again, Malaysia corrupted goverment will NEVER give anything to Digi or else TM would be gone.

BARCELONA: Malaysia is recognised as among countries which have contributed significantly to the advancement in the mobile broadband industry, Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said.

He said the recognition spurred Malaysia to further expand and expedite the usage of the technology, especially the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), in rural areas.

“WiMAX, via the 2.3GHz and 2.6GHz frequencies, will be the key technology for the mobile industry in Malaysia,” he told reporters at the end of his three-day visit here.

He said that by August, the service would be expanded nationwide through numerous initiatives to be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“We will carry this out in collaboration with Telekom Malaysia and several telcos,” he said.

Rais said among the initiatives was the setting up of community Internet clubs in villages as well as in towns.

“I expect that by August, there will be a greater access to the service in Malaysia,” he said.

Rais is among the ministers in charge of telecommunications who were invited to the ministerial meeting and roundtable discussions involving the government sector and industry players in conjunction with the 2010 World Mobile Telecommunication Congress here.

He said that the recognition was not only due to the country’s mobile phone access, which is at 106% and surpassed the 31% broadband penetration benchmark, but also because of the commitment shown by the government towards the industry and technology.

“We welcome the call for special attention to be given to broadband access due its rapid development globally,” he said. He added that globally, there were about five billion broadband subscribers and that Malaysia too was expected to see an increase in the number of broadband users.

“We are also looking into the latest development in the industry including the long term evolution (LTE), which is the technology beyond 3G, WiFi and WiMAX,” he said.

During the three-day congress involving about 1,000 industry players, Rais, accompanied by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission chairman Tan Sri Khalid Ramli, also visited exhibition which showcased the latest ICT gadgets and software.

Based on his observation at the congress and exhibition here, he said, Malaysia was able to keep up with the latest developments in mobile technology. — Bernama

Anyone are in contact with digi, please help me to ask when is this coming to JB. Other part of johor already got covered but not in JB town. I am getting pissed off with maxis, the first month was good, then slow with network issue. Issue fixed, took them more than one week, then less than one week later, problem come back again. Sigh........ I have been waiting for digi since beginning of this year.
