1) is high-rise building suitable to use this? i heard some comments that high rise building will suffer from signal weakness.
2) what type of modem is suitable for bb? anyone tried using a router + 3g modem as access point? how's it?
Thanks..

QUOTE(ks98 @ Jul 30 2009, 11:29 AM) my answer as follow: 1. Somebody tested wireless broadband on a high-rise building and manage to get a good signal... but, the best thing is to test with your hand phone at your location. This is the best answer that nobody can beat it... 2. Any type of HSDPA modem should work... actually, Digi is giving free modem now. Yes, i'm using my Sierra 885 with a 3.5G wireless router now (CNet 635M). So far, no problem with this combination.... by the way, somebody found Aztech also launch a new 3G wireless router which is just RM199... QUOTE(davidmak @ Jul 30 2009, 03:19 PM) In addition to ks98's answer on question 2: Thanks bro for your reply. Appreciate that. Gonna see what digi gives this pc fair... high chance of getting one dy... I am using Aztech HW550-3G HSPA Wireless-N Router paired with Digi's modem and its working great. Few months earlier, Digi gave E219 for Discover and Explore plans. Now they replaced it with E160E. Both modems work fine with the router. This router works with a wide range of Huawei broadbands available too. |

QUOTE(aliqueamyrei @ Aug 1 2009, 11:19 PM) haha..I think my friend got conned la..he said..one of the digi staff at pc fair said that the fup for rm88 promo package is unlimited (no 10 GB limit) for those who sign up during the pc fair..we test the connection then and it is quite terrible..because our area (desa melawati) only covered by edge.. Your fren can still claim back the money right? A staff told me that they have 7 day trial for those not satisfied with the speed and opt for a refund. |

A question.. Will the capacity continue calculating if I use Digi BB at EDGE speed? Eg. I use it in non-3G coverage for few days... Will the counter keep going?

QUOTE(davidmak @ Aug 3 2009, 01:23 PM) Yes, as long as you use their network the 'money counter' starts. They can differentiate user accounts by the SIM serial number information used. The EDGE speed is meant to be a fallback service where 3G coverage is not available. So if you get EDGE more than 70% of the time, then perhaps you should go with their EDGE plans. My home got 3G coverage, just sometimes when I am away from my home, no 3G.... hope they expand faster than expected, while keeping the quality of the service.. Now thinking of whether 10G is sufficient for me or not.. |

Is there a discount if I pay my bill using cc auto-debit?
My area suffers no data transfer problem over the weekend until yest. Dissapointed me totally as the cs claims that there's no service interruption in my area, asked me to check my modem coz they suspect my modem has problem. |

QUOTE(llmcso @ Oct 27 2009, 09:16 AM) ya,something there is something faulty on the modem itself, some ppl encountered before ,after change a new modem, everything solved But that's not a modem problem. I can online whole weekend at my hometown using EDGE, but not at my KL house using 3G. Went to Digi Service Center and it worked fine. But after back home, unable to transfer any data. And finally this early morning able to see download counter moving finally. |

Totally disspointed by the service. No Internet for 5 days already in my place. Nothing was done. Called the customer service, very hard to reach. Indeed last nite tried several times and waited several mins. No one picked up my call. My friend just subscribed and she claims that the line was slowwww during nite time, able to use EDGE only at nite... I think Digi is no difference than M**** and C*****, provides slow internet connection for b***dy high price.

QUOTE(lhooipg @ Oct 28 2009, 10:00 AM) Hi Calvin, Already filed complain with Digi useing Dchat. I stated some of my situation in post #3280. Think not due to modem, coz dy went to their Service Center, they are able to connect to HSDPA. But not at my home. Full scenario like this:That should not be happening unless you have hit your monthly quota, then DIGI will cap your speed to EDGE. Try filed an official report to DIGI or maybe check your modem whether is working properly or not. Are you within the coverage of DIGI BB? FYI...I'm not working for DIGI...just sharing some information that I know..... Thanks you. I left my computer on for whole night on Friday nite. On Sat morning when I wake up, the stats shows no data transfer, but still connected to HSDPA (got signal). Tried many times and in my bro laptop but still the same. Went back hometown at Kuantan then, Kuantan got no 3G / HSDPA, only EDGE, but I was able to online whole weekend using my modem via EDGE connection. On Monday when I back to PJ, same problem. Then went to Digi Service Center at SS2. The staff there tried to connect using my modem, able to connect without problem. Then tried back in my home, still cannot. Fed up. Yesterday (Tue) early morning, I was able to on, but speed kinda slow, some page have to reload only able to access. Then off pc and out for work, till the time I went back, cannot online already. Called the CS, too busy to pick up my calls. Zzz.. Hitting monthly quota is definitely impossible since my bill cycle is on 15 Oct. I know my usage style and definitely it's not due to monthly quota. Even so, still able to use EDGE without any problem. But now my problem is that I can detect signal (full bar), can connect but no data transfer (except for yest early morning out of the blue). Firewall / Antivirus is not a problem here I think. Coz all these while I am able to online without any problem using the same spec / condition of my comp. The night before this incident still online without problem, left it on till next morning, cannot online anymore... Zzz.. Added on October 28, 2009, 10:29 amDefinitely in Digi BB coverage lo.. 200% firm.. Not a new user, have been using for almost 3 months..
