Just subscribed to the Explore package yesterday. My home is about 300m outside the coverage area but still can get HSDPA signal. Sometimes 1 bar, sometimes 4 bars. Average speed is about 1mbps when downloading large files. Haven't experienced disconnections so far.

Those are good consistent speeds that you're getting there even though your area is 300m outside of coverage....

Yes, I guess I'm lucky. The DiGi service center guy said I am not entitled to the 7 days money back trial period because I do not reside in the coverage area.

I used to subscribe to Maxis 3G unlimited package. The speed was much better, average around 1.5mbps. But recently the speed dropped to less than 200kbps, maybe due to congestion. So I switched to DiGi.

Awesome!! Yeah i did the same too subscribing to Digi Explore knowing that i am off about 300m from the coverage area.  Like you, I get a constant 1.00-1.10mbps.  Signal is from 1-4 with an average of 3bars.

Did you manage to register into "My Account"? I tried to register many times but failed.

It takes three working days for you to register.  I didnt know this at first.  The dealers never mentioned it to me until i called CS why i couldnt register.  I got mine on last thursday, tried couple of times to register on that day, Friday and Saturday.  Called CS, then the CS advised me to try again on Monday.  And only on Monday  did i finally succeed in registering my OCS.

Since you just activated yours yesterday, prolly, nice to try it again on Wednesday (You can keep trying on monday n tuesday too).

Thanks. I will try it again in a few days' time.

Guys, could you all help me,

I just need to know..

Could any of you open these three blogs simultaneosly, i am just checking the speed and stability of DGBB

here they are,

Restnrileks (mine), Pupu (Friend), and Mariuca (Friend)

Try to see untill all are done; by seeing number of comments.  If you still see 0 comments, it means the blogs havent fully finished downloading.  Once all are done, see if they are any missing links like pixs, text or anything.

Then last, just try open  my blog (yeah the RestnRileks, not promoting ya..) without any other webpages, blogs or what so ever running.  Wait till the comments are not showing 0.  Does the whole widgets and everything is okay. Or any missing links too?

I am just trying to see whether  this has to do with my area or is it the same with everybody else?

I am realizing that with DG, i cant open 3-5 blogs or pages simultaneously.  The best is, i have to open one by one if i want to have a full complete page.  Speed is still awesome, is just that pages arent completely opened, missing pix, missing widgets if i open them simultaneously.

I used to open 10 blogs simultaneously with DG edge (thought take like 15minutes too fully complete), at least they were complete.

Now, if such thing persists, i cant do my usual hopping of 150 entrecard blogs per day.  rclxub.gif LOL.  Luckily i dont do that anymore. laugh.gif

p/s : does it matter in terms of speed when having 1-2bars compared to 3 bars?

Thanks ya..

Well, restnrileks loaded without a problem. Pupu loaded well but with a few missing pictures. mariuca took a long time to load and there are lots of missing pics. I opened them simultaneously.

No problem at all opening those blogs with Streamyx. Looks like DiGi has a few bugs to work out.

Switching from Maxis BB to Digi BB, satisfied with the speed but when playing online games always drop after 1 hr, no DC, it pause few secs (5-10 secs) and resume the connection sad.gif

Is the modem overheated?

Location = Berjaya Park
USB Modem = Vodafone E172
Package = Extreme

Cheers.

I think this is due to DiGi's traffic shaping. I experienced this too when downloading a large file. The speed averages at 124kB/s for 10 seconds, drops to 0kB/s for 3 seconds, then bursts to 300kB/s for 3 seconds and then drops and stabilises at 124kB/s for another 10 seconds. This cycle repeats itself over and over again but very consistent. However, sometimes it does not happen.

Anybody here use Huawei E220 to connect to Digi 3G Broadband?
How's the speed? any problem with it?

Thank.

I'm using Huawei E220 with the latest firmware and drivers. No problem connecting to DiGi 3G Broadband. Download speed is about 1mbps and upload about 270kbps.

Btw,
how to pay monthly and where?

Credit card?
There's autobilling in the pamphlet form where we I have to enter my credit card information..
Is it safe to enter?
*
Hi prolog,

I'm using autobilling for my Explore plan. They will give a rebate of RM5 for using autobilling. Also, I'm using my own modem so I'll get another RM10 rebate. So my bill will be RM108 - RM10 - RM5 = RM93 monthly.

To sign up for autobilling, you have to fill up the autobilling section in the form and they will also need a photocopy of your credit card. Yes, that's a bit dangerous as any party who gets their hands on the photocopy can misuse it.

Alternatively, if you have online banking, you can pay via online banking such as Maybank2u.

Hope this helps.

I'm on the Explore package. Used a Huawei Vodafone E172 HSUPA modem to connect. Download 1mbps, upload 350 kbps. Just a slight improvement in upload speed over the E220. E220 upload speed was 310kbps. Download speed same.

Is there a contract if I bought my own modem to use with the Discover package at RM58 a month?

I can't seem to find the info.
*
There is no contract. If you use your own modem for Discover package, you'll get a rebate of RM5 per month for 12 months.

DiGi gives you a public IP address. So you may host applications such as websites, etc.
