...tacky grips/overgrips, nahhh... not for me... it's nothing bad, just i guess i am used to the normal stuff, so when use the tacky ones, rasa macam something wrong somewhere
...heyyyy, steffi also ka? heh heh... like i said, she's my #1 favourite -athlete- ever! rge way she dominated with her forehand... can watch her play all day... have i told you guys how i saw this -guy- play exactly, and i mean exactly (footwork, forehand, slice backhand, serve motion etc), and yes even the clothes (anyone remember the adidas with the rose motif?)... would have been very funny except he was really good... 

...fabrice santoro, yeah... they (media, players) call him 'the Magician' due to his unorthodox style and yes, awesome repertoire... double handed strokes on both wings... he can kill the ball with his slices... heh he's a hoot to watch...

...but for my fave male player, the top person (or thereabouts) would be someone i can, or did model my game on, which would be somewhere along andre agassi, or preferably  yevgeny kafelnikov... granted my forehand isn't flat (or powderful) like his, and i hit a one-handed backhand, but i try to copy his court movement and control... which would be a good advice i would give to someone new to the game... try to pick a/a few players you admire for their game, then try to copy their signature strokes... 'try' being the operational word here since the pros have advanced timing and quirks a good coach would not want their charges to copy...but generally, doing that will help improve your game...

The racquet has very good plowthrough. If you can handle the weight, and swing the racquet on time (that is, well prepared), the racquet will do the magic for you, generating a powerful and heavy shot.

I still find it slightly off for my serves though, probably because of the weight. But generally, a very good racquet, but I doubt it will be my racquet of choice if I were to play a serious match. For rally, or recreational fun, it's good.. but your arms will tire out for sure

(if i recall correctly, but i'm sure the model is wrong) cost almost 1K, which in my opinion is arguably one of the best racquets -ever-... well, if it had a bigger head, then -the- best racquet ever  ...as it is, last weekend got my racquets out of the store, somehow i found only one piece of prince precision (longbody) 690 (sweeeeet...) and donnay pro-one (double sweeeeeet...)... i realised i gave my -only- 200G (non-steffi edition) to my brother when i came back ...buruk siku aaa if i take it back?

Steffi and John were using Dunlop Max 200G as far as I recall , dunno if you meant that lol,yhaaa kids these days sure have it made, my first racket was a huge Prince 110 hehehe, then I upgraded to Yonex RX-37 I didn't like the R series as it was too rectangular,boxy for me, after the Yonex I tried Rossignol , the Wilander racket, I liked it alot but it was too fragile for my style of play..... I think I broke 3 of them returning serve.......I had gone through 6 of them if I am not mistaken , then someone recomended me Wilson rackets, the original 85 Pro Staff when Chris Evert Lyold was using it, that was sooo before Sampras's time, I managed to stock up 4 of them, after 10-12 years of abuse and countless match victories, they slowly broke at the throat *cries* then I was sold on the Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 (colorful racket) then I stopped tennis for 18 years, I only sambung balik last year.

Prince Graphite 90 original release in late 80's the one Agassi was using, that was a SOLID racket, very high up there with the original Pro Staff 85.
Wilson 85 Pro Staff dunno what version but this was bought before Stefan Edberg,Jim Courier's, Pete Sampras,Roger Federer made this racket popular.
Tried Head Prestige Classic my friend was sponsored by Head in Singapore, so I got to hit with that racket alot.

which state is this feeq??? ...anyway, if one is overweight, of course he/she can play... and pretty soon (if you play often and hard enough), with all the cardio workout, you will be in better shape and get to play better tennis... just take it easy in the beginning... learn the basic strokes first, and much later then can go run like a dog to retrieve the shots sent all over the court by your opponent (like the rest of us )
...(sensei... macam jual obat pulak )... heh anyways, yeah if you slice it with backspin hard enough, it will bounce in the opposite direction... a cool trick to show off is to slice a dropshot with a wicked backspin, and see it bounce back again over the net into your side of the court again ... priceless... anyway, similarly, slice with sidespin also changes the direction of the bounce... a good skill to own i.e. slice with side/back spin...

...actually, for me, those players with wicked slice backhands are really a handful and tough to play... most players live and breathe a typical flat/topspin backhand, so you can more or less guess the bounce, depth and speed of the ball, but slicers (especially the good ones) realise that flat/topspin proponents like the ball to be at waist level thereabouts to generate good lift and spin, so to have a sliced ball coming in at unknown/strange side/back spin which more often than not have zero bounce and which literally dies once it bounces on your side of the court, well let's just say steffi graf's slice backhand wasn't always a weakness it was made out to be... in the right hands, a slicer can be a devastating opponent, especially when used against the right opponent... so redcaffeine, take heart from what i said... keep perfecting that slice backhand, it will come in handy... but of course try to master the topspin backhand also, for options sake...

You can win in tennis without using mad power. U probably havent met
an opponent that can beat u with only lobs & slices... but hey, u can
do whatever you want.. its your style.
      Anyway like ckseong said.. u dont change your physical attributes
to cope with your gear... its the other way around. Gear, u can go out
& buy tomorrow.... but technique & physical conditions cannot be bought
& cannot be attained instantly. If you still decide to keep your racquet,
have a rest, rehabilitate & strengthen your arm , hit with correct technique
& dont pull weird stunts

*sigh* ...now i confirm already old man... finally got to meet ahwee1987 at the mmu courts, and he can definitely kick my wrinkled ass ...well, we didn't exactly play... just had a hit-about, where he nicely let me play with his aerogel 300... my verdict on the racquet? ...nice balance, nice power, nice cushioning but one can really feel the lack of mass of this racquet... it's a good racquet, no doubt about it, but lacks the solid feel of both my prince and donnay sticks... got twisted on off-center hits, which yesterday there was a lot *doublesigh*... that said, i could get used to it, so thinking of getting a couple... it is a dunlop after all, so can't really go wrong ...

...about ahwee1987... now here is a smashing fellow... came all the way from elsewhere to meet up with me late yesterday... very nice guy... but come on ahwee, no way you have only played for 6 months... at least a year only can you hit shots as hard and as straight as yesterday... the spin he generates is quite commendable too... yeah, he could definitely kick my ass (now!!!) ...but again, great guy and thanks again for letting me demo your racquet!

...as for me, i might as well find 50++ age guys to play with, since i definitely have no stamina, no footwork and my technique, danggg... 10 years really takes away a lot huh? trust me guys... do not -Not- play for too long like me... tennis is definitely not like riding the proverbial bicycle ...so come, come... queue up to kick my ass later on y'all... heh heh...

Lolz. Maybe you can try to serve and volley more to save some of your limited energy in your tank. =) Its really hard to play against grinders or pushers if you really feel that old as you have stated. Lolz!

hey guys...i plan to buy overgrip for my racquets...any particular model or brand which you can recommend? i plan to buy the wilson overgrip selling 3 in 1 pack....don't know what model yet...plan to go to shop and look...

just asking...overgrip must be applied on another layer of grip right? coz i'm using KPro Tour now and the ori grip is the leather grip...very sticky and uncomfortable...so i just need to add overgrip on top of it right?

Hello tennis pros. I hv some concern. Its been almost 1 year i played tennis. And im frustrated tht i cant do a proper forehand with enogh topspin!! . I tried many time to improve my forehand+ topspin, but in the end i "accidentally" learn how to slice + put backspin on the ball ( totally the apposite of the purpose of my training ). So now, i only know how to backspin the ball, with zero skill on how to put topspin on my ball. And i kinda giv up already...Even when serve the ball, i slice it..
---> So.... with all of my shots produce backspin only, will i do well in a real match?  x.x!   ....

i know someone here that play slice on both wings.... tensionnn....

How heavy do our racquets weigh? Anyone at 13 oz? Heavy heavy one...

I personally only ever use Dunlop Max Comfort. It has a really soft stringbed, I strung mine at 59 lbs but it feels alot more like a 55lbs.

There are better strings out there though, but this is my favourite.

last week bought 2 x 360feet Kevlar reel, 1 x 720ft Technifibre Syn (Rm180) and 1 x 720fet Prince Durable (rm300) = Rm800.

dont know the price..is it ok ???

The kevlar (Crossfire) is to be hybrid with Technifibre. Another thing, I have Yonex Supergrap 3pcs (Rm20) if anybody wants to try.

the reason why im considering the ksixone 90 is because my old prostaff kevlar has the same head size. but i read a few pages back that the ksixone 90 is pretty stiff and also heavy. I dug out my old school prostaff kevlar to get it re-string today. Tension preferred is 60lbs. Been using that tension back in the 90's. i hope it will still work for me tho, as these days (getting older) im aiming to play a controlled consistent game rather than power.

i was checking out the babolat aeropro cortex, got quoted 570. looks nice, head size - 100, feels light, good grip and i also loved the design. Roddick's puredrive feels good too. they did not have the ksixone 90, but the shop fella handed me the pete sampras racquet to get a feel. He said it will be more or less the same weight as the ksixone 90. It felt heavy comparing to the babolats.

guess for now, maybe i'll stick to my old school wilson prostaff kevlar...we will see how it goes...

im in penang. i don't think we have any specialized tennis shops around. after 13 years, guess it's time for me to invest on a good pair of shoes as well. any babolat specialized outlets in KL? they look awesome. I'll probably plan a trip to KL one of these days. hope you folks can gimme an idea or 2 on where to go hunt for tennis shoes, racquets, bags in KL...
