Its about love and sacrifice.
A very touching novel , I must say.

i've read ayat2 cinta. it's a good book but then again it's quite the same like any other romantic novels.

I prefer laskar pelangi.it was honest, told in a soft way.it capture exactly what the author felt.

I see.
I haven't read Laskar Pelangi yet.
But I think Ayat-Ayat Cinta is honest too. smile.gif

Yes, I have actually. I love it, especially the part about "ikhlas" and "redha", you know, the one when Fahri was in prison...? I love the way the author drew from the story of Nabi Yusuf A.S.

but you see, those things do happen in a conducive environment.

i've read the same unconventional teaching style before and it happen in japan in the 40's.

so yeah the level of education you receive do depend on the teacher.

I understand that , milleu. smile.gif
But to compare these two books , is not 'suitable'.
Same genre but absolutely different storyline.

Yeah.
Btw guys , just to add some info here , there is also a movie of Ayat-Ayat Cinta.
Perhaps if you want to know the storyline first , you can watch the movie.
But ofcourse , novels are always better than movies , right? smile.gif

Still, it's kinda far-fetched for me... I dunno la...

@Massa

I can't stand Maria, actually. I like her in the early part of the book. Then when she got to be a buddinski, then I get pissed. Heheh. No pain when she dies. tongue.gif

@ Shah & Luna

It's a good book. Any book by Pak Habib is a good bet. Di Atas Sajadah Cinta is great as well. And AADC is lightyears away from AAC.

for romance novel plot, it's one of the good book I've read

it's not usually for me to pick up a malay book and continuously reading it.

i'll probably give it 8 stars out of 10.

i haven't seen the movie yet. but been planning to see it if i got a chance.

Sorry, didn't notice ur question, Massa.

Di Atas Sejadah Cinta is also in the same grain as Ayat-ayat Cinta, and it was a worthwhile read, I think -- but the emotional rollercoaster and all is pretty much the same between the two, but that may just be me.
