There are many of us who wish to be like you, that is helping others although many of us would most likely end up struggling to make a living. That is why I decided to venture into swiftlet farming. Someone rightly or wrongly once said that “…to help the needy you should not be in need in the first place”. Many of us, me in particular, hope to generate a steady source of income from swiftlet farming and then be able to pursue our ideals…..research, charity or volunteer work etc
I am very upset by what is happening in Sarawak now. Buying time by whatever means seems to be the only option there for now. Most of us have a strong sentiment to the birds and the birdhouse we have painstakingly nurtured. So it is rather depressing to see them being destroyed by greedy people in the guise of upholding the law. Justice will prevail. Like bee-keeping, swiftlet keeping promote life. You will be blessed for your charity work and being a good hearted swiftlet farmer.

For those of us in semenanjung, we must find ways and means to work with the authorities to allow swiftlet farming in town. We must not play along with any suggestions that birdhouses can be relocated together with the birds. If we can set a precedent to stay in town, then we may be able to help our Sabah/Sarawak fellow swiftlet farmers. Looks like some very good development in the Kedah meeting. Many thanks for those who had managed to get the Kedah officials to have a clear understanding of things hence enabling them to make better decisions. The Kedah meeting is certainly very important to all of us as it has far reaching consequences for the swiftlet keeping in Malaysia.
..............................................................................
So all you guys who has worked tirelessly, I wish you live a long happy life. For the rest of the swiftlet farmers, we must practice zero killing of the birds.
