I got my N86 few days aho and it's Firmware ver 11.

Wanted to know, whether it's worth it to update to ver 20? Heard that it's still not stable. It's ok for me to wait for the next firmware to come out because I'm fine with this firmware now.

Advise please! notworthy.gif

I'm still new with my HP and I have to say that, our N86 is kinda different with others HP who's using the S60 ver 3 too.

How do we check the memory available in our HP? Heard that, there's Mass Memory, Phone Memory and Memory Card.

What's the different?

Hope the senior can help out! biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance!

Got my Phone fix today!  Thanks NSC for a fast service (2 hours), and now my camera is working again (after a camera replacement tongue.gif)

As for the memory, you can go into Apps - Office - File Manager, this will allow you to explorer your phone memory, mass memory and memory card.

Phone Memory - this is your default memory space for your phone, which is limited to like 78-80MB, and if this fill up then your phone will not be able to store any more contacts, and sms (depends where you put it).

Mass Memory - is where you usually store your maps, videos, and memory and others applications.  And this is 8GB.

Memory card - in case the internal 8GB mass memory is not enuf, you can still add another 16GB micro memory card biggrin.gif
*
Oh THANKS A LOT to Satan076! If not I'll never find this application. Didn't expect it to be in the office. LOL! Looks like I have to sneak into every programme in the HP. thumbup.gif

Thanks for helping! You're my saviour now... LOL! notworthy.gif

New question tongue.gif

Any solution to this. I trimmed true tone for my HP ringtone, but it's all appear in the 'Now Playing' mode or in the 'All Song' mode. When you play the song in the all song, sometimes it comes up this trimmed song. What to do? How can I separate it? It's annoying.... wub.gif

Does anyone know where to download software to use flashlight on n86?
*
If nobody answer you that means there's no such thing... Hehe biggrin.gif

Btw, if you use the LED as flash light, it will drain your battery and cut down the life span of LED...

Can our Map or the GPS Data show us the way to our destination?

http://www.nokia.com.my/get-support-and-so...ps/plan-a-route

This Nokia website show us that, we have to add our place/destination to the 'Add new route point', but I can't find one in the Map application....

And then, what video format can our N86 support and which is the best video quality format to watch video in N86?

Thanks in advance!

Got a question here...

When someone bluetooth a picture to you, and then you save it at gallery, it will only appear in all picture in N86 case, then how to get the image?
When I connect my HP to com, can't find the picture they send to me. Just got the one I capture using this HP!

Pls guide me!

Then, I recorded a sound clip and I store it at Mass Memory and I can't find at Gallery, Sound Clip. But I manage to trace it using File Manager. So wanted to ask, beside using File Manager to view it, does it actually show at other's part where I didn't notice? Thanks! notworthy.gif

Newbie here.... icon_rolleyes.gif

I was having the exact error message the other day, so the solution is - SEND BACK TO NSC! biggrin.gif

I got the camera replace and now it is working perfectly.

As for the paint peel off issue - go and get ur phone "skin" or u can apply the Zagg invisible shield.
*
Can you brief us more about the "skin" you mention? I'm interested to invest in.... biggrin.gif How does it cost and what is it actually?

How about the Zagg? Invisible shield? A plastic layer?

How much does this cost and where can we get this from?

Thanks! notworthy.gif

Hi all, my gf get interested in this phone, maybe will get a new one soon biggrin.gif

Some questions need experienced users here to help to solve...

1. Is this phone too heavy or bulky for a lady?
2. Where have the live unit of this phone to test in KL area? better around Bukit Bintang...
3. Have any recommendations on protector to this phone?

White N86 looks so beautiful! Wish to get a good protector to protect it totally and nicely laugh.gif

I appreciate to all feedback provided. Thx! wink.gif
*
1) IMHO, this phone actually doesn't looks bulky, but it's subjective. I compare it to my bro N95, that's bulky. LOL! On the heavy side, it just more heavier then normal like 30 gram only.. Doesn't notice at all. All this make N86 a solid phone and not like those cheap cheap material.

2) You can go to any Nokia store to test this out. I test at Nokia outlet too... biggrin.gif

3) Silicon protector is not good as what I heard from my friend. When the heat generated from the phone cannot escape to the surrounding, it will store water vapour in the silicon cover itself or when you're in cool places too...

That's my opinion....

Good Luck! brows.gif

The skin I mentioned here is not the silicone slip on case.  It is like a thin layer of transparent wrapped onto the phone.  I saw it in Bukit Bintang and Mid Valley (LG infront of Yu Ren Sheng).

As for Zagg, some sellers is in the lowyat forum (garage sales), you can search there.

I got myself Zagg, but I did a bad job in applying it to my phone (yes DIY) and the screen proctector is not that nice now.  Thinking of replacing the screen proctector biggrin.gif
*
What do you think of the Zagg? Reliable? I thought the Zagg is still not available to N86 yet? hmm.gif

Does it cover the side also? I got no idea about the transparent wrapped... How is that? Ok ah? Huhu...

Thanks! smile.gif

Thx for your reply. I'll try it first at Nokia store. Btw, where can find the Nokia store in KL?
Sorry for this noob question, cuz I'm not KL ppl tongue.gif
Yup. Although it is scratch-resistant surface, I still worry about the paint peel or rusty...
That's why I wish to buy a protector to make it lasts forever laugh.gif
*
KL which part? There's Nokia in Pavilion and Jusco Tmn Maluri. I think those major shopping complex have this Nokia. Try Google.... biggrin.gif .... or nokia.com.my

Good Luck! smile.gif

I m using N73 only, using freeware to stich the photos together, Yup, i like the panorama very much, thats why put in my signature. I can bring u there, very easy hike only, 20 mins enough liao. that day the weather is clear and blue, so can get this pic.
I duno, my camera photos usually is less than rm 1 per piece, right?
*
You using special freeware to stich the photos together? What you mean? You still have to have that panorama feature to capture pic like this... You mean you just edit and perfect the panorama pic?

Those who had been using N86, especially those for few months, can tell me your personal opinion on this phone? any disadvantages? camera quality? lag/hang/reboot issue? hardware problems? any other issues? and your ratings(let's say.. out of 10) more like a conclusion for it tongue.gif I've made up my mind to choose N86 rather than w995, so just need you guys' opinion on the phone.

And lastly, would you recommend this phone for someone with budget around 1.3k - 1.5k, looking for a phone with good keypads, wifi, decent camera, good design&quality, reliable, hassle-free which should be able to serve for few years?

Might be taking it early january biggrin.gif you guys' opinions are highly appreciated  notworthy.gif
*
Had been using this HP not more than a month. Almost a month now. Disadvantage? Have to adopt to it lo, but not much. Everything got pros n cons but of course this HP got more pros la.

Lagging, so far, never experience before. Just waiting for a better firmware to 'FURTHER' improve the camera. It's quite good now, IMHO. I'm using V11.

I actually budget 1k leh! Then I upgrade my budget, wait until it drops till RM.1.3k only invest... Keypad not bad, wifi added advantage as not much got this, design and quality... GOOD! Reliable and hassle free? Don't know what you mean. But no problem for now...

Good Luck! icon_rolleyes.gif

FW updates
1st the bad:

I don't think you'll see an update for Christmas :-(

Now the good:

Yes it is intended that there will be further update/s. :-)

The first is planned for early in the new year. Any further update/s are currently unconfirmed schedule wise.

These will be more about improving the product performance rather than new features if you know what I mean ;-)

On the topic of v20 not being available for some variants. Please PM me with your product code and I will try and take a look for you - no promises! These may not be available due to operator approvals which in some cases can take longer. I did hear that there could be another small wave of variants released in the next 4 weeks or so.
