ok ok..chill down alpha_company..
i don know what is your grudge towards N82, but i am using it for a week now, and it's still ok..battery is slightly weak, but it's ok for me..
just think of it this way...obviously, when nokia come out with the first 8MP, which is N86, by default people will think of it as a camera phone, and most of us here would normally think that a camera phone will only be completed with a xenon flash...
it's just pure opinion actually, no point getting all fired up over it..

yes, i know what you are trying to say, most end users out there never even heard symbian before, or hardly know what it is, even though they are using a s60v3 device..so you can imagine people that knows what is a xenon flash..but for us here that knows all about this things, we cannot help but to ask for perfection..it's human nature, we never get satisfied.

throw all those aside, this is what i think of nokia for their recent moves:
nokia is being ignorance in the phone market lately..
for example, look at the design from N81, N78, N85, N79, N97 and going on..
they are basically the same mirror, glossy surface..just different colour..

also, for some people who look around other brand 8MP phones..they have face detection, smile shots and stuff, and samsung's new phone even provide video recording on 720p, but there is no info on this device capable of doing all the above..
and the thing that let me down the most, since nokia is putting all those theme effect, and larger res for their touch device, they should start using back the OMAP chipset they gave up, it provides much higher performance..some will say price matters, but the thing is, when you are already spending RM2.5k on a phone, i don think it matters if it's another RM200 if you really like the phone, and due to the OMAP, you phone specs can cope with more softwares in the future due to it's processing power, and as for now, people are already playing quake 3 on N82...

for people that thinks this is overkillings, i have experience on this..
i was using N81 8GB before i got N82, and i remember clearly that when i am playing ONE(ngage game) at my n81, i have to turn off the lighting just to ensure better gameplay framerate..this is a proof that nokia's phone spec itself are slowly incapable of coping with their own gaming platform..irony...

well..i didnt really say it's off course..as alpha_company said, LED is getting better and better, and i agree with that..just stating out why people here arguing about this..
put the camera flash discussion aside for a while.i think nokia can do better in camera software, like face detection..
also, nokia havent really been have much breakthrough on video recording as well..if they can actually dump in 720p recording like samsung acme, this phone will be even popular after some price drop

ok..my first impression of this phone, is a n85 with 8MP camera + 8GB internal storage...well done nokia, yet another 90% similar design
if you look close enough at the slider set, it's very very similar with the one n85 has, but that one acceptable, as n85 slider is really good
but other then that..the design, the keys(except for the menu key), the camera protector..
why can't nokia just come out with a something more unique..
i dont expect them to use different style for each of their phone, but glossy style have been use for how many phones already...nokia seriously need another phone designer...

ya, it seems so, but maybe not also
nokia has been using cheap material to cut cost and make their phones as affordable as possible, and since plastic is cheaper then metal, i think it's plastic with metal-like paint..

yes yes!! indeed...first N95, and N81, then the combine them, become N85 and N96..now that n85 is sellable, they try to boost this one by adding a higher MP camera with no improvement software wise..unless nokia put in face detection(and other sweet functions) and/or it's capable of recording in HD, i wouldn't be thrilled..

Apparently i had found this article that compare N85 with N86 . But what i confuse was , it said that both phone had navi wheel , and the speaker of N86 is louder then N85 which does not fixed with what gsmarena had mentioned.
Can somebody explain this?  sweat.gif

after checking the link, i feel like if you own a N85(or a decent 5MP phone), there aint much point for u to change to N86..
yes, sure, the multiple aperture will help on photos, but think of it, the video recording is not a bit improved in terms of quality, record resolution and frames..this is a joke, cos higher MP means higher capability, so at least make a wide VGA resolution support...

dunno for u all, but i starting to think nokia just wanna make money so much that they just wanna put in tiny bit of new things on their phones and push as new product line..

anyway, those are if you already have a decent camera phone, for those using 3.2MP or lower, this phone will definitely be a great update..but my point is, if you're more of a video type of people comparing to taking photo, i think going for n85 will save more money

just my opinion though...

Compare with SE Idou ?  unsure.gif

i would fairly say Idou win this phone is so many ways...
big screen, camera itself, video recording is unknown, updated symbian s60 v5, menu animation, graphic capability..
but of course, this phone have more hardware keys, which is normally what a touch phone is lack off, other then that, i cannot really see what advantage on N86 have over SE idou..maybe the price??
