The Samba system is slightly problematic, but since I use a router, its quite easy. Plus on XP.
Trial and error. I forgot how I got mine to work, but tinker around for over 2 weeks, and factory reset my router like crazy each time I mess up. |

Huh? How can it kaput when you disconnect it?
As far as I know, if your output cable isn't attached to the system, it will refuse to start. Try unplugging and plugging it back. Sometimes bad connection also results to the same thing. |

Dismantle it? Its easy, just be careful. There are lots of reference online with pictures, so you will not go wrong. Then use a pin to eject it like out PC's optical drive. Then tada~ you got your halo 2 back.

Forgotten how. But if its modded, it will be easier compared to unmodded. If modded, just check in your system setting.

Nope. Swapping out hdd does no difference. You need some hack to bypass the system's hardcode. Softmod also does bypass.

QUOTE(Cyprid Dark ii @ Sep 18 2011, 05:58 AM) Lately when I was in love again with my big, black Xbox,so it has been awhile that I was take the console out from my room & put it at hall & playing some old game like ninja gaiden & buffy. Open up your xbox and clean it. Prolly from dust build-up from all this years. There are guides around online to help you.It all was great, great time but suddenly after few days playing, the console always hang,& when I restart the console,it always show a message like this: "Your XBOX need to be serviced" & I need to wait for few days before everything is alright before it started to make the same sh1t again. My XBOX has been all standard since 2002 including all the equipment & since it become like this & I missed the oppurtunity to buy another brand new stock,I think I want to mod it,but there is some question for all sifus here --What is the best modchip available as for now?I know not many game hardware shop wanna take this old XBOX anymore.....(which is make me super duper sad this day! --I have 5-6 years ago that there is a mod chip that can save all game utility data altogether from the disk & can be saved directly to HDD & make the game playable without disk just like a PC.What kind of mod & modchip is that? This is the way that I think I should give a try. Is there any strong community of 1st gen XBOX gamers here or other dedicated forum for fanbase.Because it was super hard to find a game for this console anymore.Be it original or chaplang one....it all always ended up with frustration. Modchip wise, there are no more in the local market. You can ship in modchips but you have to do the soldering yourself. All modchip (well, its more of the alternative xbox OS dashboard which is enabled by the modchip) will let you save your games and save files on the HDD. Anyway, I recalled the installer I used back then is All-in-one Installer Deluxe but they have softmod now! Try it out but read the instruction thoroughly before attempting it since it does wipe out the original OS. No need to find originals to hack it anymore! And do install XBMC. You can then watch movies on your xbox like what I do to mine. |

There are some games best played on a larger screen or on a controller compared to traditional keyboard and mouse. Besides, since one has the hardware, might as well extend its life than leaving it there to rot and die.
